Located in Uptown Charlotte, N.C., the NASCAR Hall of Fame is an interactive, entertainment attraction honoring the history and heritage of NASCAR. The high-tech venue, designed to educate and entertain race fans and non-fans alike, opened May 11, 2010 and includes artifacts, interactive exhibits, and a 278-person state-of-the-art theater. The goal of the facility is to honor NASCAR icons and create an enduring tribute to the drivers, crew members, team owners and others that have impacted the sport in the past, present and future. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (schedule subject to change) and has an attached parking garage on Brevard Street. NASCAR Hall of Fame page Policy

Today, we honor the legacy of NASCAR Hall of Famer Ralph Moody on his birthday. A driver, owner, and mechanical innovator, Moody helped shape NASCAR through his technical expertise and passion for competition. Happy belated birthday to NASCAR Hall of Famer Donnie Allison! A member of NASCAR’s famed “Alabama Gang,” Allison made his mark behind the wheel with 10 Cup Series victories and 17 poles during his career. After earning Cup Series Rookie of the Year honors in 1967, Allison went on to win three races in 1970, including the Coca-Cola 600.

JUST ANNOUNCED: Longtime motorsports journalist and key figure in the creation of the Motor Racing Network Jim Foster has been named recipient of the 2027 Squier-Hall Award for NASCAR Media Excellence.

Foster covered NASCAR during some of its earliest years before joining NASCAR in 1967, where his work helped bring the sport’s stories and personalities to an expanding audience.

He later played a key role in launching the Motor Racing Network in 1970, helping establish a broadcast tradition that continues to connect NASCAR with fans today. His impact helped shape the way generations of fans experienced NASCAR beyond the racetrack.

Today, we remember and celebrate NASCAR Hall of Famer Wendell Scott. A trailblazer both on and off the track, Scott became the first African American driver to win a NASCAR Cup Series race in 1963 at Jacksonville Speedway. Over the course of his career, he earned 147 top-five finishes and 495 top-10 finishes in NASCAR’s premier series while paving the way for future generations of competitors.
