Life lately ✨💕
On November 21st we welcomed our baby girl to this world.
My delivery wasn't at all what I had hoped for, or planned. A full story I'll share later on my stories. What I took from my experience is that who your care team and who you have around you matters. The staff was amazing and so genuine, and my doula was a blessing. The experience is a positive in my mind because of those incredible people around me.
Also, it's good to go in with a plan but don't be so attached. Be open enough to allow for flexibility but be knowledgeable of what the interventions are and when to implement them.
Lastly, my husband will always be my rock and my everything. He's held me together throughout my post partum experience. He's been there through my recovery, the emotional rollercoaster moments fueled by hormonal shifts and lack of sleep. He's held me and Harper through our breast feeding battles and little sleep nights. He's made me laugh and inspired time and time again. I'm so grateful she will him to look up to and compare all men to in the future. He provides the best standard.
If I can give you a piece of advice that is truly universal it's this, your relationship with your partner matters. How you view one another, respect one another, talk to one another, treat one another, and express love with one another. You must be on the same page.
So have the deep and thought provoking conversations now with your partner. Get to a place where you both can be completely and utterly real with one another without fear, judgement, or anger. Develop your communication skills and learn how to communicate with patience, love, and grace in your heart. If you don't have this down or you have some resentment then wait to have a baby. A baby will reveal the cracks that's in your partnership / marriage.
I also want to thank all my friends, family members, and ISI members/staff who have checked in, sent love (in all different forms), and provided support throughout my pregnancy and even more so post partum 🥹❤️ With all the love in my heart, thank you.
