✨ Update ✨

The new year brought along a new opportunity for me and I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the coaching team at Flow Motion Running! I’m really excited for the chance to work with some of the best coaches and runners in the Charlotte area and look forward to continuing to grow as a coach and fitness professional.

So what does this mean for CT Sculpt?

CT Sculpt will continue to operate as it always has, offering strength and cardio focused personal training and small group workouts. The only change is that run coaching will now be offered exclusively through Flow Motion ( )

CT Sculpt remains my foundation and I’m very proud of what I’ve built over the past 8 years. At the same time, I’m excited to step into this next chapter and continue helping others pursue their fitness and performance goals in new ways.

If you’re interested in run coaching, personal training or have questions about this transition, feel free to reach out… I’d love to connect, learn more about your fitness goals and explore how I might support those efforts 🏃🏻‍♀️💪🏼👊🏼

If you’ve known me for a while, you know playground workouts have been a steady part of my motherhood fitness journey… I mean if I’m already outside in yoga pants, I might as well move my body!

With the weather starting to warm up I’ve found myself back out at a playground a few times this week, using the opportunity to fit in some of the less exciting things like exercises to strengthen my knee (shout out to Meaningful Movement) and plenty of dynamic and static stretching. Nothing overly complicated or strenuous, just consistent efforts that add up and support my goals. And honestly… who wouldn’t benefit from a little fresh air and a good stretch?

Just a friendly reminder that movement doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective and sometimes it’s as simple as taking advantage of the moment you’re already in.

Happy Friday, friends… I hope your weekend includes whatever kind of movement brings you joy 🙂

Happy New Year all! Thought I would start out the year sharing about the goals I set and met for myself in 2025…

✔️ Run an average of 25 miles per week
✔️ Complete 25,000 push-ups

At the start of the year I intentionally set goals that would focus on consistency over a sustained period of time. Both of these goals required discipline day after day and week after week for the whole year.

I met my run goal getting miles in 5-6 days per week, mostly early mornings before the sun came up or while my kids were in school. With Helen in school 5 days per week since the fall, my stroller miles dropped significantly to just 96.1 on the year. I ran some miles with friends, ran races with my family and joined in on a few run club meet ups, but mostly hit the pavement solo for lots of mindful time on my feet.

I met my push-up goal by breaking them up into sets of 10-15 spread throughout the day. Initially I had to average 68 per day but by the end of the year I had fallen behind and had to maintain 110-120 per day throughout the month of December. Daunting, but I got them done!

Do I believe these challenges are right for everyone? No. But I do believe this type of structured, long-term consistency can be valuable when aligned with individual goals. For me, the process built mental toughness, reinforced sustainable habits and allowed me to maintain a solid base of fitness while staying injury free.

My personal fitness goals for 2026 will shift to more speed and strength, at least in the first part of the year, and I’m excited to see how I can continue to improve. As we kick off the new year, I encourage you to take a moment to explore goals that feel meaningful for you… goals that support consistency, growth and perhaps most importantly, goals that are enjoyable to you. Because at the end of the day the best exercise for anyone is the one they will actually do.

Happy New Year’s Day all, how will you get moving in 2026?

✨ 2025 Year in Review ✨

It’s been another amazing year for CT Sculpt 💪🏼🏃🏻‍♀️👊🏼

Over the past 12 months, I’ve had the privilege of leading 142 personal training sessions, facilitating 45 private small group workouts, hosting two Fitness Court group workout series and coaching runners across the finish lines of 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon races. I also had the opportunity to collaborate with fellow small business owners, sponsor the Pineville 4 Miler race for the third year in a row, participate in our town’s Trunk or Treat event, connect with new athletes and continue working with several long time clients.

If you attended a 1:1 session, showed up to a group workout, liked one of my posts, hired me for run coaching or shared about CT Sculpt with a friend, thank you! I’m truly grateful for your support.

Looking ahead to 2026… I’m excited for new opportunities to grow and learn while continuing the mission that has been at the heart of CT Sculpt from the very beginning: to provide convenient fitness opportunities outside of a traditional gym environment to individuals of all fitness levels and help people get moving in ways that fit into their busy lives. My goal has always been to make fitness feel accessible, flexible, sustainable and enjoyable. Whether it’s outdoor body weight workouts, customized running plans, live virtual 1:1 sessions, pop-up groups with friends, personal training in my garage gym or other ideas you have, I’d love to support your efforts!

Christian had some errands to run this morning and I wanted fresh air and exercise, so I set up an outdoor activity for the kids and headed out for laps around the park with sets of push-ups in between 🏃🏻‍♀️💪🏼

As the kids get older and more independent my workouts that include them have become less frequent, but they are still too young to stay home alone, and this kind of creativity and flexibility is what has allowed me to stay consistent with my fitness routine as a busy mom.

Workout:
12 x lap around the park + 10 push-ups
Cool down to 3 miles

Beyond programming effective workouts, a big part of my work as a personal trainer and run coach is helping people build fitness routines that fit into busy schedules. Want some help with this? Reach out, I’d love to chat!

✨ Charlotte Half Marathon 2025

🏃🏻‍♀️ My 15th half marathon and 4th time running CLT
⌚️ Chip time: 1:49:01, not my slowest, not my fastest
☀️ The weather was fantastic
🥵 The course is still hard
👏🏼 The crowd support was amazing, the best I’ve seen for this race
💪🏼 Grateful for another opportunity to challenge myself
🏆 Added bonus: seeing friends and coaching athletes achieve their goals

Congrats to all who finished the 5K, half marathon or marathon! I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did and are now soaking up the post race bliss. And thanks to all of the spectators who came out in support of the runners, your positive energy helped carry me through some challenging miles.

Feeling inspired to run a race of your own? Let me know, I’d love to help!

Last week a personal training client shared that they noticed feeling stronger, more balanced and more energized while chasing their toddler around the playground and it was music to my ears.

While aesthetic goals can be motivating, I truly believe that the real win comes from building functional strength that will support your everyday life and keep you moving with confidence for the long run 💪🏼👊🏼

“It’s not cold, it’s invigorating.” 🍂🌧️

I’ll be honest, I didn’t feel like stepping out into the rain to run this morning. I stood on my porch in the cold contemplating other options for when I could try to fit it in later this week.

But this simple reframe puts a positive spin on the less than ideal conditions and gets me out the door. And as always, once I’m warmed up and in the groove, I’m so glad to be out there.

Happy Monday all, how will you get moving today?
