Hey F45 fam, it’s Jon. Creating F45 Plaza Midwood and our community has been the most rewarding endeavor I’ve ever been involved in. Being here every day to work out with you, laugh with you, and grow with you has brought me so many amazing memories. So it is incredibly hard for me to share that I am about to move on to my next journey.

In the next week or so, new owners will be taking over the studio. I’ve worked hard to get the studio into good hands that I can trust to be good stewards of a community that I love dearly. The new owners also own the F45 SouthPark studio on Park Road and I know they are going to do a great job taking our studio into the future.

As you know, Head Coach Steven recently (and coincidentally) moved, but you will continue to see the rest of our fabulous coaching team. You will also get to meet some of the F45 SouthPark coaching team as they begin to integrate in and fill open shifts starting this evening. And you will continue to get the greatest workouts on the planet! My hope is that this will be fairly seamless for everyone and I will be working with the new owners and coaches towards that end.

Many of you know that I have been nursing some injuries that I work out through anyways just because I am in the studio every day and find it nearly impossible to say no to a workout. I will be taking some time off for long overdue healing and self-care and some travel. But I intend to return in the near future as a member to continue to enjoy sweating with everyone.

I want to thank you all for really being such a friendly and supportive community, you have made this an incredible journey. And I especially want to thank my coaching team, I’ve been blessed with an entire crew of amazing humans who love their jobs and are great fun to work with. I love all of you guys.

F45 is bittersweet at times. We make long term friendships and share milestones together, but also share sad events.

Meet Mark, one of our original foundation members! He's been with us since we opened the doors 4.5 years ago. Last year we got to celebrate the birth of his adorable daughter with him, but largely lost his wife, Suni, as a member as she struggled to get in to classes while dealing with the wee one.

Today they all came in to celebrate Mark's 600th class, a huge milestone! But we are heartbroken that Mark's job is taking them to Texas next month. We've loved having y'all with us all this time and will greatly miss you! You are what we love about our F45 family!

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

Hey team, this is Jon checking in, the owner of F45 Training Plaza Midwood. F45 may be a global brand, but we are a true local small business. I've lived in Plaza Midwood since 2009 and you will find me at the studio 7 days a week making sure everything goes smoothly and everyone has a great experience. You'll also find me taking a class with the members almost every day!

I opened the gym in 2019 because I wanted a place where it was easy to get a great workout and also easy to make friends. Community is important to me and you will see it in everything we do.

Hey Team! You may see information in the coming days from F45 Training HQ about the new F45 Training app which will be combining the features of the F45 Challenge app and the F45 Training Mindbody booking app.

This is a reminder that we use Glofox instead of Mindbody, so you will continue to use F45 Training Glofox to book your classes. The new app will eventually support Glofox as well.

If you already have the F45 Challenge app, it will be automatically rebranded on your phone to F45 Training when you do an update, and it will have all the same functionality which includes:

➡️ online workouts when you can't make it into the studio
➡️ the F45 Challenge meal plan and recipe library which is available year round when you would like to focus on your nutrition
➡️ tracking of your progress over time with a variety of our classes including Benchmark, Trials, and Wahlberg Week

If you don't have it installed already, we highly recommend it! 💪

I would be remiss to not recognize Coach Ben. He started with us three years ago when we emerged from the dark days of our long pandemic shutdown. He had been dancing on Broadway and the pandemic brought him back home to NC and he has been a solid foundation to our coaching pyramid ever since.

Ben also coaches kids at Nation Ford High School in Fort Mill as a full time job, and his responsibilities there have grown such that he no longer has the time to commit to coaching with us on a regular basis. We are very sorry to lose him and his personality and energy on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

But we are happy that he plans to stay on the team and pick up shifts whenever he can, so we are very pleased that this will not be a true goodbye. We are happy to have him however we can! Thanks for everything you have done for our F45 family, Ben, we love you!

Team we are kicking off a new phase today and endurance is going to be our focus! Starting Mondays with Marathon, we will be using longer working sets and focusing on maintaining a consistent pace throughout the set.

Cardio Wednesdays we will be featuring Redline with its five increasing sets and short five second rest periods between each set. Like Marathon, it should be treated as one long working set with short breaks intended to shake it off and reset.

So let's build that cardio base, maintain is the name of the game!

And don't forget about Gemini on Thursdays where you get to choose whether to do upper body or lower body!

Hey Team! What a week it has been! If you are like me, F45 Trials has pushed your body to the limit! But with Stage 6 now in the books, we are going to cross the finish line with Stage 7 tomorrow.

To finish out the benchmarks we have been taking all week, Stage 7 is going to be a 10 minute, 10 station fitness test that encourages you to go all out and give it everything you've got!

The workout will begin in heats every two minutes, so come on out and show us what you've got and cheer the rest of the team on!

F45 TRIALS starts tomorrow, Monday July 10!

Whether you’re an F45 novice or up on our Wall of Fame, this is your opportunity to train your heart out and push yourself forward. Seven days, seven brand new performance-based workouts. Each designed for you to put your fitness skills to the test and show us what you’ve got!

Over the course of the week, you’ll get the chance to complete seven trials and track your progress/gain points for the leaderboard in the F45 Challenge App.

Be sure to download the F45 Challenge App from your app store in advance. Log in with the same login that you use to log into the F45 Training Glofox App.

Get ready for Stage 1 on Monday - an Athletica style cardio workout with a twist!

A great time was had at our member social at Stroke last night! Some tasty cocktails, $2 mimosas, and a cutthroat round of putt putt made for a lot of laughs! Congrats to Grace Kurecki for her hole in one, and Jon Sayer for a hole in one and the win!
