Charlotte Varsity Softball Players High Light Week 1.

In the first week of games the varsity squad finished with a 2-5 record overall vs some pretty stiff competition. (Holt, Lansing Eastern, Livonia Franklin, Birmingham Seaholm, and Troy Athens). As the team continues to grow we want to highlight some awesome play by some of our individuals:

Makayla Hankins (Sophomore/ Centerfielder)

Kat Mason (Senior/ 2nd Base/ OF)

Has not played softball her entire high school career til this year and these numbers are great for a first year player that has never played any high school facing the competition we have faced in 7 games.

Doing a little traveling today!

In game one last night, the Orioles never looked back after scoring seven runs in the first inning and playing great defense. Strong pitching performance by Grace Featherly, and hot bats early helped the Orioles solidify their first victory of the season. 

In game two the Orioles found themselves in an early hole, having to fight back the entire game. Although they were down every single inning, the Orioles continue to fight, defensively and offensively to stay in the game until the fifth inning. Bats got hot for the Orioles late in the game as they entered the fifth inning Scoring multiple times with one out Gracelyn Halsey smashed a line drive double to the fence to secure the oriole sweep of the Quakers. 

Grace Featherly and Grace Tennes each earned their first wins of the 2023 season!
