School wasn't my only focus as a child. At the age of 10, I was introduced to tennis. It was an accident to be honest. One of my dad's best clients from work was an owner of a huge tennis facility with private coaches and tennis clinics. So one day, he asked my father if I was interested i
n coming out and trying the sport out for the first time. Instantly I loved the sport with all my heart and the passion grew stronger for tennis. Tennis is a very difficult sport to play and doesn't come overnight. It was a huge journey for me and wasn't easy at first. As tennis started becoming more serious for me, I was in need of a private coach with experience. That's when I meet Yani my (Brat) In Ukrainian "brat" means brother. Yani poured his time and love into me, so I could become a US Open champion. Yani and I had a special friendship that went past tennis. He became family to us. Yani and my father pushed me to the limits in tennis. My schedule was crazy to look at, some people were shocked about it. I had 10 hours a week of practice, 1 hour a day of fitness with drills and cardio workouts, and tournaments every weekend. My favorite part about tennis was traveling to tournaments all over the United States. With victories came many trophies, so many I didn't know what to do with them. I became a top player in the nation and the top number 3 player in the state. The United States Tennis Association also congratulated me with a award of the most improved tennis junior. They flew me out on a couple sponsor tournaments for team tennis. To this day I'm successful at tennis. With an experience of 8 years.
