Today, we would be remiss if we didn’t also pause to honor the four Americans who lost their lives during the attacks in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.

They served our nation in different roles, but each answered a call to serve far from home. Their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to country deserve to be remembered with gratitude and respect.

May we never forget those who gave their lives in service to the United States, and may we always stand beside the families, friends, and fellow Americans who carry their memory forward.

25 Years. We Will Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Today marks 25 years since a beautiful September morning became one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.

For many of us, September 11th is a memory we carry. For others, like our friend Warren Smith;“Smitty” to so many around the Club. It is a day they lived firsthand.

Smitty is a retired Lieutenant of the FDNY and was among the first responders who entered the North Tower that morning. He had made it to the 35th floor when the South Tower collapsed. The firefighters inside the North Tower were ordered to evacuate, and Smitty barely made it out before that tower, too, came down.

Nine of the 14 firefighters who responded from Smitty’s firehouse never came home.

The fire engine pictured here is more than a piece of history. It is an actual rig that was on site at the World Trade Center during the response to the attacks on September 11, 2001…. A tangible reminder of the firefighters and first responders who answered the call that morning.

Behind the numbers we remember from 9/11 were people… firefighters, police officers, first responders, office workers, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends and neighbors. People who went to work that morning expecting an ordinary Tuesday. And people who ran toward unimaginable danger when everyone else was trying to escape it.

Twenty-five years later, we honor those who were taken from us, those who gave their lives trying to save others, the families who have carried their loss ever since, and survivors like Smitty who carry the memories of that day.

May we also remember what followed: American flags hanging from homes and businesses, strangers helping strangers, and a country united in grief, resolve, and love of country.

Today and always, we remember the fallen. We honor the heroes. We hold their families in our hearts. And we remain grateful for those who answered the call.

25 years later, we still remember. We still honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from Providence Country Club!

Today is a day to relax, enjoy time with family and friends, and celebrate the hard work and dedication of people across our country.

A few fun Labor Day facts:
⭐ The first Labor Day celebration was held in New York City on September 5, 1882.
⭐ Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894.
⭐ The holiday is always celebrated on the first Monday in September—giving us one last long weekend to soak up summer! ☀️

A special THANK YOU to all of our incredible Providence members who make our Club such a wonderful community. And an equally big thank you to our amazing staff; their hard work, hospitality, and dedication are a huge part of what makes Providence Country Club so special.

School is underway and so is the fun in the Providence Playhouse! 🎊 Tonight the kiddos were on a mission…🔎they scouted, searched and unearthed the scavenger hunt items hidden in plain sight. After collecting their sweet prizes 🏆 there was still plenty of time for playing on the back lawn with our friends. After the sun went down, we got crafty!
Ready for more fun? Sign up your kids ages 5-10 for 5 weeks of afterschool clubs on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting on Sept 16th / 17th!
