What a weekend of baseball! ⚾️ Riot 15u travelled to Charlotte, NC and WON both Saturday games!
Game 1:
Riot 15U v. North Davidson Order 15U 4-2 ⚾️
Riot 15U opened the scoring in the bottom of the second thanks to two singles. Riot 15U first got on the board when Brody Wagner singled, scoring one run.
Riot 15U added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jake Burns singled down the left field line, and Wagner walked, each scoring one run.
Burns started the game for Riot 15U. The starter allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking three. Jackson Spivey led things off on the hill for North Davidson Order 15U. The starter allowed five hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking three. Luke Blevins appeared in relief for Riot 15U.
Blevins, Wagner, Burns, Mikey Hampton, and Peyton Vanover each collected one hit for Riot 15U. Wagner, Burns, and Vanover each drove in one run for Riot 15U. Riot 15U turned one double play in the game.
Game 2:
Riot 15U v. Powerhouse 15U 8-3⚾️
Riot 15U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Braylen Mullins walked, Peyton Vanover walked, Mason Foister walked, and Jonah O’Quinn was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
Riot 15U added two runs in the second. Brody Wagner singled down the left field line, making the score 6-0.
Riot 15U extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Aiden Hartsook and Mikey Hampton.
Hampton began the game for Riot 15U. The pitcher gave up two hits and two runs over two innings, striking out two and walking four. James Mackey opened the game for Powerhouse 15U. The starter allowed zero hits and four runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out none and walking five. Mullins pitched one inning of scoreless ball for Riot 15U in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits, striking out one and walking none.
Wagner, Hartsook, and Hampton each collected one hit for Riot 15U. Wagner went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Riot 15U had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Jake Burns and Hampton led the team with two free passes each. Riot 15U turned one double play in the game.
