Indoor lacrosse (also called Box Lacrosse) is a faster and more physical version of the game of lacrosse that is exciting to both play and watch. The Charlotte Copperheads was formed to celebrate indoor lacrosse and use it to amplify the passion for lacrosse worldwide. The organization is steadfast in its support of today’s lacrosse “players” – both professional and recreational alike. We recogniz

e that the local youth players represent the future growth of the sport, and as such we are committed to support the game at the community level with a continuous stream of games, events, camps and clinics designed to celebrate the lacrosse community. We seek to use Professional Indoor Lacrosse to give American Players an opportunity to play the game at the highest level and to strengthen the sport as a whole throughout the Charlotte area, North Carolina, the U.S. We are passionately dedicated to the Charlotte community and will help grow the game of lacrosse in the Carolinas by inspiring and teaching the future stars of our sport. With a year-round schedule of camps, clinics and training, the Charlotte Copperheads understands that the best way to strengthen the professional game of lacrosse is to actively support today’s youth players and provide them a path to a viable career as a professional lacrosse player.

It's with a heavy heart to report that former National Lacrosse League Commissioner Jim Jennings passed away today at the age 53 after a four-year battle with cancer. Jennings was appointed the league's Commissioner in September 2000 and served for eight seasons before stepping down in January 2009.…

Myers Park senior Drew Ortiz was a US Lacrosse All-American last season after scoring 45 goals and assisting on 27. He's committed to play at High Point University next year.

According to their Twitter account, the Charlotte Hounds have added Alex Burkhead (D) to the 40-man preseason active roster. We think it's a perfect fit because Alex is certainly no stranger to Charlotte!

Robert, the father of Copperheads' President Graham D'Alvia, passed away last night. Robert was an integral part in the foundation and creation of the Charlotte Copperheads.
