Lori Harkey was 1st female overall (60 miler) at The Sleigh Ride yesterday in Asheboro NC, while hubby was 2nd overall while towing a small group around. This is a charity event called Operation Red Sleigh which helps underprivileged children in Randolph County who would not have typically had a Christmas.

The future of cycling in the U.S.

The team would like to introduce a new member to the team, Aaron Atwater. Aaron resides in the Myrtle Beach area with his lovely wife April. They have 2 daughters and 2 grandkids. He works in his family's security and video surveillance business.

Many of us have raced with Aaron for years in the Carolinas and had grown to know him well on and off the bike. He is a well-respected cyclist and leader in the cycling community.

Aaron started cycling and racing in '91 as a high school kid. After family and career took its place, he got back into it again in 2011 and won a State Championship in 2018. He races road and gravel. And he recently took 5th place in the NC/SC State Criterium Championship supporting the team in his first race with us.

He also enjoys wood working and a little metal detecting when not riding, racing and enjoying post ride coffee. We are fortunate to have Aaron join us mid-season and be a part of the Red Star Racing family. Welcome Aaron!
