Get ready to celebrate a historic achievement!

The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers are hosting a special evening at Atrium Health Ballpark this Friday, September 4, 2026, to honor our very own Mallard Creek Optimist Club Junior League Softball World Series Champions!

Join us as the Cannon Ballers roll out the red carpet for our ladies, coaches and families.

Representing MCOC and CoulOak Little League, these girls represented the Southeast Region and captivated the nation with a dominant, undefeated 7-0 run through the 2026 Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington, culminating in a thrilling 6-4 victory over California in the title game!

Cannon Ballers games are always a fun family experience, and this Friday, the Club is graciously and generously acknowledging the girls’ dedication, teamwork, and their unforgettable journey to a World Championship.

These girls came to Washington State representing the Southeast Region, our community, their families and everyone back home who believed in them.

And they are coming home as 2026 JUNIOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS! πŸŒŽπŸ†πŸ”₯

What a journey.

They went 4-0 in pool play to earn the No. 1 seed.

They battled back against Canada in the quarterfinals with an unforgettable nine-run fifth inning.

They took down Central (Michigan), 5-2, in the semifinals.

And when there was only one game leftβ€”with two undefeated 6-0 teams playing for a World Championshipβ€”these girls found a way ONE. MORE. TIME. πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

But the final record only tells part of this story.

Because when you look at the tournament leaderboards, you see just how extraordinary this TEAM was.

Facing Central (Michigan) for the second time this week, Southeast once again answered the callβ€”combining clutch hitting, another tremendous performance from Addison Lowder in the circle, and flawless defense to earn a 5-2 semifinal victory!

Six games. Six wins.

And now these girls get the opportunity they’ve worked for all spring and summer: play one game for a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. πŸ’›πŸ–€

⭐ SEMIFINAL HIGHLIGHTS

πŸ’ͺ Addison Lowder. Seven innings. Complete game. With a trip to the World Series Championship on the line, Addison took the ball and delivered againβ€”allowing just 2 runs, striking out 6, walking only 2, and going the distance for Team Southeast. After everything she’s done in the circle and at the plate throughout this tournament, Addison came through with another huge performance when the stakes were at their highest. πŸ”₯πŸ₯Ž

⚑ Lynzie Murillo got Southeast started immediately, battling with two strikes and delivering an 0-2 RBI single in the bottom of the first to put the girls on top. Lynzie also handled six defensive chances as part of Southeast’s error-free night.

πŸ’₯ Braelene Kirby added an RBI single in the second inning, continuing an absolutely remarkable World Series at the plate.

πŸ”₯ Rhylann Langley and Tiziana Guzman each drove in a run as Southeast continued finding ways to manufacture offense against a tough Michigan team.

After an incredible 15-5 comeback victory over Canada in the quarterfinals, Pool A No. 1 Seed Team Southeast (Mallard Creek Optimist Club Softball) is back in action tonight looking to punch its ticket to the World Series Championship Game! πŸ’ͺπŸ†

Our girls showed what champions are made of against Canadaβ€”staying composed, battling through adversity, and exploding for a thrilling late-inning comeback that reminded everyone exactly what this team is all about. πŸ’₯πŸ‘

Next up is a familiar opponent in Pool A - No. 3 Seed Central (Michigan), who earned its spot in the semifinals with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the East Region Champions from Pennsylvania.

Championship teams answer adversity…and that’s exactly what Team Southeast did Thursday afternoon.

After falling behind 4-1 early, Team Southeast never flinched. Instead, they responded with relentless offense, outstanding pitching, and a massive 9-run fifth inning to roll past Canada 15-5 and advance to the Junior League Softball World Series Semifinals!

The turning point came in the fifth inning, when Team Southeast erupted for nine runs to seize control of the game.

Abby Black, who continues to swing one of the hottest bats in the tournament, ignited the comeback with a clutch RBI single. Kylie Turner followed with a huge game-tying RBI double to knot the game at 5-5, flipping all the momentum to Team Southeast.

Rhylann Langley, Tiziana Guzman, Lindley Knutson, and Everlee Junker kept the rally rolling with clutch extra-base hits and run-scoring knocks, turning a three-run deficit into a commanding lead in one unforgettable inning.

This team continues to prove why they earned the No. 1 seed…and they’re not done yet.

πŸ’ͺ Addison Lowder once again showed why she’s been the heartbeat of Team Southeast throughout this World Series. After battling through Canada’s early rally, Addison settled in and kept Southeast within striking distance before handing the ball to Tiziana Guzman, who was outstanding in relief. Tiziana fired 1β…“ scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out two, helping preserve the lead during Southeast’s explosive comeback. Addison then returned to the circle to record the final out and put the finishing touches on another huge Team Southeast victory. At the plate, Addison also went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI, continuing her MVP-caliber tournament.
