Come on and get your miles of movement in before the sun comes up by joining us at Summit Coffee Highland Creek this Thursday. We’ll have our usual run at Summit while also having a small group carpool (earlier time to meet for carpool if you want to be in that group! check our Strava group Summit Coffee HC Run Club or DM us here for details) to the sole to help celebrate SHC’s regular flex runner Mico’s run club tour wrap up. Pick a place to move and show up!

Please wear reflective gear or lights if you have them so you can see and be seen for safety. We start our run before sunrise!

When: 6am Thursday September 3
Where: Meet at 4701 Goose Creek Dr, Charlotte, NC 28269.
Parking: Some street parking and there is a large lot by the Hawthorne’s and Harris Teeter only .25mi away. Do NOT park in reserved spaces for the residents in the immediate coffee shop lot.

Every 5 runs earns you a free drink at the café. We have overlapping routes of different distances available, paper or digital directions, and we look out for each other on course.

This run welcomes all levels but is meant to cater to those starting out, less speedy, or those returning from injury or a break from running. Free and open to all runners, not just club members. No registration required, just show up!

Join us for the weekly Summit Coffee OTP Run this Friday @ 6:15am

📍 Where: Summit Coffee On The Plaza (2501 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205)

📅 When: Friday, August 28th
⏰ Schedule:
* Arrive by: 6:00 AM – Say hello & stretch, restrooms available before the run
* Announcements: 6:10 AM – quick run down of safety reminders
* Run/Walk Start: 6:15 AM – time to move

Our routes stay within the Villa Heights neighborhood, keeping you off busy streets and sidewalks. Turn-by-turn directions available via QR code on Strava, Garmin, and RunGo.

Route Options:
🏃 Run: 3 & 5-mile routes
🚶 Walk: 1 & 1.5-mile routes

Parking:
🚗 There are limited number of spots in the Summit Coffee lot—plenty of street parking on nearby streets
🚫 Please be respectful of our neighbors: do not block driveways or park in yards

Early Bird Option: Try the Dark Roast OTP Run at 5:15 AM – 3-mile, flatter route with a 9:00–9:30 min/mile pace. Perfect if you need a few extra miles.

🎉 Bonus Perk: Complete five runs or walks with us and earn a free coffee of your choice! Punch cards are provided for tracking. Coffee tastes better when you’ve earned it!

We want to help you feel at ease with a good idea of what to expect when you show up to our Summit Coffee Highland Creek Run. Every so often we do a little anonymous survey, and while it’s not always the same mix of people each week, this is a good snapshot of our Summer runners. If you’re not next to someone, there’s still a good chance that you’re in sight of someone if you’re anywhere close to these paces!

Join us this Thursday at 6am to run, walk, or run/ walk the distance of your choice. We’ve got routes for 2mi, 5k, 4 miles, and 5 miles. There are hills but we promise you will survive them! Please DM us any questions you may have, especially if you’d like us to arrange a volunteer flex runner to match your particular pace/ distance.

Rescheduled date is here...

Our Summer Social is here, with a twist… and maybe sprinkles on top. Join us Saturday, August 29, for an ice cream party at Freedom Park! Bring your friends and families for fun in the sun and some sweet cold treats. All are welcome and ice cream for our members and their kids will be paid for by the club. We will also have a special raffle just for members.

The ice cream truck from Jeanetta Yeller will be by the Princeton Ave. entrance at Freedom Park from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

This week’s featured guest will be the South End Shuffle 5K and 1 mile taking place on September 12th in front of the Wooden Robot Brewery. We’ll have representatives from the event sharing details about this year’s races.

Keep your spirits and your step count up in the face of this muggy weather by joining our Summit Highland Creek Run this Thursday before the sun comes up. After the run you can rehydrate with fellow runners and walkers and enjoy the rest of the day too.

It’s Little Sugar Creek Greenway time!

Run with us on Saturday at 7 a.m. from Park Road Park. All are welcome and we will connect you with runners at a similar pace if you’re running solo. Water will be available at the start and finish, with coolers set out along the greenway. We recommend that you bring a bottle to refill during your run.
