The dead ball shoulder over is the most satisfying exercise for this metaphor 😉

This year I threw over every last thing that was keeping me, and the healthcare professionals I coach, stuck in the restrict-punish-repeat cycle.

And what did I keep? A training program built around performance, enough food to actually fuel it, and a community of healthcare workers who are done shrinking themselves.

If you’ve got some things of your own to throw over — I know a great exercise for it.

Drop a 👋 for everything YOU threw over this year.

There is no flattering angle on the air bike. The face you make, the sounds you make, and the way your entire existence feels questionable by 25 calories. None of it is cute.
And I have never loved anything more.
Because this is what training for performance feels like. Not training to look a certain way. Not training to burn off what you ate. Training to show up at a DEKA race and leave everything on the floor.

This is the shift I help healthcare professionals make — from training as punishment to training as proof.
Proof that you’re strong.
Proof that you’re fueled.
Proof that you showed up for yourself the way you show up for everyone else.

Drop a 😮‍💨 in the comments if the air bike has humbled you too.

Healthcare workers are the strongest people I know. Not just physically, but in every way. The emotional weight you carry on a daily basis would buckle most people.

And yet somehow you’re still the last person on your own priority list.

The farmer’s carry is one of my favorite exercises because it’s a full body lesson in what it means to carry your load with intention — strong grip, tall spine, deliberate steps.

That’s not just good form. That’s a whole philosophy.

You deserve to feel that strong in your real life too — not just in the gym.

Healthcare workers are the most resilient people on the planet.

Pick it up. Carry it. Get it done. Do it again. That’s not just a workout — that’s a Tuesday.

But here’s what I see constantly in the nurses, PAs, and physicians I coach: they show up for every hard thing at work completely depleted. Skipped meals. Broken sleep. Zero recovery.
And then they wonder why they don’t have anything left for themselves.

You cannot keep carrying everything for everyone on an empty tank.

The strongest thing you can do for your patients, and yourself, is take your own health as seriously as you take theirs.

That’s what I help you do.

For years my relationship with cardio was transactional.

Run enough miles = earn enough food.
Burn enough calories = deserve to rest.

It was exhausting, and it kept me stuck in a cycle that had nothing to do with health and everything to do with fear.

When I finally started eating enough to actually fuel my training, something shifted. Movement stopped being punishment and started being proof.

Proof that my body was capable.
That I was strong.
That I had built something real.
That is what I want for every healthcare professional I work with.

You deserve to run toward something — not away from yourself.

Finished my first Spartan DEKA in 44:31!

10 zones with a total of 5k of running.

So much energy, so much fun. Would do again 😉

“Abs are made in the kitchen.”

Diet culture uses this to mean eat less. Be smaller. Restrict harder.

But as a nurse practitioner, let me reframe that for you: abs — like all muscle — are built through adequate nutrition, progressive training, and recovery.

You cannot restrict your way to a strong core. You can only restrict your way to a depleted, frustrated, and exhausted version of yourself who still doesn’t feel good in your body.

I work with healthcare professionals who are DONE with that cycle. Who want to train hard, eat well, and actually see their body respond.

If that’s you, then you’re in the right place.

20-year-old me was restricting, over-exercising, and calling it “being healthy.”

She was also a nursing student who could recite the consequences of under-fueling from a textbook — while living them in real life.

That’s the cruelest part of diet culture in healthcare. We KNOW better. And we still can’t escape it.

If I could sit across from her today, I’d say: eat the carbs, lift the weights, rest without guilt, and stop waiting to feel worthy of taking care of yourself.

I became a coach so I could say that to other people before they spend as many years stuck as I did.

Past me would have trained fasted and called it discipline.

Current me ate a full meal, showed up fueled, and crushed it.

As a nurse practitioner, I know the science. As someone who’s lived it, I know the shame. And as a coach, I know what it takes to get to the other side.

If you’re a healthcare professional who’s tired of being tired — tired of dieting, tired of feeling weak, tired of putting everyone else first — I built my entire coaching practice for YOU.

Because you deserve to feel as strong as you are.

You don’t build resilience by avoiding discomfort.

You build it by choosing challenges that make you stronger—inside and out.
