It’s been a month since we went to truly one of the most serene experiences we’ve had this year with CLAYWORKS. When you make something with your own hands it has a different feel to it. Not what you actually made but what it produces for your mind. You get a sensation that can’t be explained and that same sensation comes from completing a meaningful project at school or even a book you’ve been invested in. The act of completion is something that raises the level of satisfaction within a person.

Whatever you start please always remember to finish it. Whether that be your assignments, college or in this case Art.

If we lived in a perfect world, and everyone could go for their dreams and be able to live a good life off of it what would you be doing?

For us… it’s this. Giving someone meaningful to our students. The society has so much going on, but in the face of everything we get to be around his amazed students who unknown have changed our last forever.

Took a tour to High Point University and had an excellent time. March is jam packed with great activities that you don’t want your student to miss. Show up and see where UpwardBound can take you! TRIO 🗣️

We had a blast at NCCU. Going to these college are about more than a trip on a teacher work day. It’s an opportunity to get to know each other while doing something meaningful and having a good time in a safe environment.

Our Academic Saturdays are always filled with gems our students can take home and came out to deliver that gift. Travis Jackson let our students know that an HBCU can change their lives and to go to college. Thank you for the lessons shoutout to the HBCU’s.

Yes we know… we know it’s 2026 and as we start fresh we wanted to take a look back at all the good times we’ve had. Thank you to everyone that supported and supports our programs. Thank you to our amazing staff for your hard work, students for working hard in school, parents for bringing them and our volunteers for supplying us with great events.

Yes, goodbye to 2025 but don’t forget how much you grew.

Every month we look forward to seeing our students at each of our schools in September we had an amazing check in with Rocky River. Get into the spa when it comes to the thing is going on at their school and we can’t wait to see them again.

Another month and another academic Saturday this time we had the amazing opportunity of having Charlotte’s very own come and graces with some excellent scholarship advice. Our students do their best to strive for excellence. With every day that passes, we see their growth. We are so proud that they are a part of our program. What will the next Academic Saturday?

As October ends we look back at our Academic Saturday. Our students got serious about getting ahead of the grant and scholarship race. With every day that passes they grow more confident and excited for what’s next.

We want to give a huge shoutout to our exceptional student Cameron Brooks for his achievements in the classroom. Cameron has been nothing short of excellent and he’s only a sophomore. Keep being great and know that your TRIO family is proud of you!
