If you are missing any items left at Shanahan Field, check our Lost & Found located at our Concession Stand. We pull it in when not here, but it sits outside from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Tuesdays & Thursdays during our Rec League games.

We do have a good deal from prior years that will be donated next week. Everything from this season will remain through the season.

CYSA is seeking a few more boys for our Fall Travel Soccer U10 and U12 teams this fall! If you have a son age 7-11 who is interested, please reach out! Lots of playing time. Lots of fun! No specific skill level needed - they will learn and grow as they practice/play!

You will find all of the details including a link to our Parent Google Drive folder that contains the season schedule (updated if you received one prior to the one I am sending), a map of the field layout, a FAQ guide sheet (helpful!), and a copy of the soccer photo envelope!

Hello Soccer Families!

Our Travel Soccer Coordinator is making an adjustment to the registration deadline as he needs numbers in order to form teams before the scheduling meeting taking place SOON.

If your son or daughter is interesting in playing TRAVEL soccer, we need them to register TODAY!!

Details:
Travel teams are a step up in the competition and level of play from our rec league and we HIGHLY encourage your child to consider Travel Soccer if they have enjoyed a couple of years of rec league and are at least 8 years old. Coaches will field the best players to compete in each game. Teams will be formed based how many players we have signed up from each birth year. (Birth Year Matrix can be found on our website.)

The season runs from the end of August to the end of October with 5-7 weeks of games based on scheduling.

Games are played on Saturdays for girls and Sundays for boys. Our opponents are other Northern Michigan cities travel soccer teams. Typical travel is to Petoskey/Harbor Springs but it depends on the towns that put teams together. The farthest we generally travel is Cadillac. If travel/commuting is holding you back, carpooling is an option!

The cost is $120.00 per player. (Full and partial scholarships are always available upon inquiry.) Uniform Kit cost is $70.00 (wear the same kit for as long as it fits). We HIGHLY recommend signing up if interested. IF we do not have enough players to make a team, you will receive a FULL refund. We do not know if we will have teams UNTIL folks register!

Need not be a Charlevoix resident to register! Our travel program is a really fun experience for the kids and great for those who would like more consistent coaching & skill advancement. It is great for comradery & building teamwork skills! If you feel your child has outgrown rec league, or just really enjoys soccer, this is a great opportunity! Additionally, we can accomodate children who decide to play both rec league and fall travel!

Referees Needed!

We are in need of a few referees for our rec league soccer season. This is a great opportunity for your son or daughter who is 12 and older and would like to earn some money working a couple hours on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning August 18th and ending September 24th.

Some soccer experience is preferable and we will do any needed training to ensure successful results.

The games are for U8 and U10 age groups. The pay per game is $15 for U8 and $20 for U10.

We are looking for 1 more U8 Rec League Soccer Coach! If you enjoy the game and want to help 6- & 7-year-olds develop a love of the game, too, reach out! U8 is an easy (& FUN) bunch to coach.

The season runs August 18th - September 24th. Games are Tuesdays & Thursdays at either 5:30 PM or 6:30 PM.

This could be a fun opportunity for a high school student who needs volunteer hours!

Our last TWO team photos to share from our 2025 Rec League season last year are our U12 + U14 combo teams! This group has historically been comprised of older 9-year-olds all the way up to younger 13-year-olds. Amazingly, they work really well together and these kids have a lot of fun on the field! Some have played soccer many years through our rec & travel programs. Some are brand new to soccer! ALL are welcome, and all end up having a ton of fun!

Charlevoix Youth Soccer really emphasizes Rec League be FUN, first and foremost (we have our travel league for a a bit more competition 😉).

REMINDER: Rec League Soccer registration closes tomorrow, June 30th!

Our 6-week season begins August 18th and ends September 24th. Games are held on Tuesdays & Thursdays at either 5:30 PM or 6:30 PM.

Your child's coach will be contacting you AFTER July 28th to schedule a couple of practices before games begin.

As always, we need a LOT more volunteer Coaches! Charlevoix Rec League cannot take place without the help of parents stepping into the coach role. You do not need to be an expert at soccer! We can put together a little informational/instructional session to help. If interested, you can add your information on the registration form when signing up your child(ren).

Those who volunteer to coach will coach their child's team (unless requested otherwise). They will also have the opportunity to request one other player for their team (as long as the player is in the correct age group).

We are also always in need of Sponsors. You, your business, or a business you know may sponsor your child's team for $250. The business logo will be on the team shirts. We have additional sponsorship opportunities for those looking to help support Charlevoix Youth Soccer. All proceeds go to purchase t-shirts, balls, nets, goals, pinnies, cones, field pain, and more!
