Bike Maryland advocates, educates, and communicates on behalf of hundreds of thousands of bicyclists! We sponsor local and state pro-bike legislation, promote bicycle and motorist awareness campaigns, teach thousands of adults and youth bicycle safety skills, and work with universities, businesses, and communities to enhance bike-ability. A few of our accomplishments include:
-passage of 8 pro-bicycling bills in the last 5 years
-bicycle racks installed on MTA buses
-approximate 50% increase in bicycle commuters in Baltimore City since 2009
-taught 1,000s of youth bicycle safety through our Bike MINDED program
-hosted dozens of Bicycle Friendly Business Workshops with communities, businesses, and universities in Maryland to increase bike-ability
-host of Annual State BIcycle Symposium, Tour du Port, Larry's Ride, Rec Ride, and participant in dozens of health, transportation, and bicycling centered events in Maryland EACH YEAR

Whether you ride with your kids to the park, pedal to work, or ride trails for recreation - all bicycling is local and all routes need advocates! Bike Maryland is a powerful, collective voice of bicyclists and we greatly appreciate your support and active participation in increasing the number of bicyclists, raising awareness, and making bicycling a fun, safe, healthy recreation and transportation opportunity.

🚴‍♀️ Congratulations to the City of Brunswick, MD on being awarded a 2027 Kim Lamphier Bikeways Grant!

This $400,000 design grant will fund the final design of a 2.5-mile shared-use path along MD 17 and MD 464 between 2nd Street to MD 180.

This project is another exciting step toward improving safe, accessible walking and biking connections in our region. We look forward to seeing this important trail connection move closer to construction and become a reality for residents and visitors alike.

👏 Great work to everyone involved in advancing bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure in Brunswick!
