These have been moved to Sunday afternoon, we do still have openings in the monitored practice session if you want to schedule some extra riding time in!

If you're not sure if you're eligible for these, please message here or Marlena personally and we can discuss! :-)

Lessons this evening will be canceled and rescheduled. I will be in touch as soon as I can.

I am under the weather and am headed back to the doctor today. I am hoping to be feeling well enough to return tomorrow, but for today I need to take the time to get checked out and take care of myself.

Please ignore the fact that your lesson has not yet been canceled or moved in the app. I will get everything updated and rescheduled as soon as I am able.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and support. 💙🐴

Lucas is more than a student at TMS — he’s family, and probably a deeper part of TMS than he ever intended to be 😂

He’s Melissa and Sandy’s son, and he became my student maybe just a little against his will. From what I remember, I think Sandy encouraged him to ride and show, and Lucas simply wanted to prove he could win one class so maybe everyone would stop asking him to ride horses LOL. So he came to me and asked if I could help him win a class in about a month because he had no plans of making this a long-term thing.

I told him, “Let me see something first.” I put him on a horse and said, “Okay... I think we can do this. But after this you’re not going to know how to ride a horse, so don’t get carried away 😂 I can help you win a class if you listen to everything I say, buy the outfit I tell you to buy, do exactly what I say, and maybe pray a little extra too.”

Well, our biggest challenge became turning the horse around and going the other direction. To this day, I still don’t know if he truly didn’t understand what I meant or just couldn’t do it, but I swear we spent a week or two on it 🤣 I even remember leaving him sitting in the ring and saying, “When you turn that horse around, I’ll come get you down because I know you can’t get off by yourself, so you’re stuck up there until you figure it out!”

Eventually he learned to reverse, switch diagonals, wear the outfit, and — against all odds — we won the class! Because at that point it had become a competition between the two of us and I’m not sure which one of us would’ve been more upset if we didn’t win 😂

I’m not sure he’s ridden much since then, but he can forever say that he won an Academy class against some very good riders after less than a month of riding... and most of that month was spent learning how to turn around.

Today though, I want to give a shout out to Lucas for an even bigger accomplishment — becoming an accountant! So fitting because I can’t do numbers to save my life, but I can turn around and turn my horse around 😂

He’s brilliant, mature, polite, honest, hardworking, loyal and still just argumentative enough to keep me on my toes because neither of us likes giving in. But that’s part of what makes him him.

We are proud you are TMS, Lucas. Congratulations! And if you ever decide you want to win one more class... I’m ready 💙🐴

Tonight's TMS Trainer Rumble Night #2 was amazing! 💙🐴 We were short a few people, but it still turned into something I honestly can’t quite put into words. It felt like something that’s been needed… something that takes us back to our roots and makes TMS feel like TMS again.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in this series so far. If this continues to be successful, we would love to keep offering events like this in the future, so let us know what you think! If you’re enjoying them and want to see more, tell us. We don’t want to fill Thursdays (or another day) with something else if this is what everyone wants and needs.

Tonight was the scavenger hunt extravaganza! First you had to find the clues hidden throughout the barn and then you had to find the items! Aubrrie was our winner this week!

Anna was the winner of the trainer trivia although I'm not sure many kids got more than three or four questions in total correct, that goes to show how much they don't know about the people they trust to teach them this Sport and when it comes down to it, they trust with their lives!

Just wait till you see what the winners are going to get, it isn't just one thing, it will be multiple and it will be worth it...

This is our job but our students deserve no who we are! And these Rumble nights show it, without the trivia or anything else. This is tms! This is the TMS that I fell in love with and that I remember and that I have needed back in a way that can't be described. The barn itself needed it the same. We all needed it!

We are one team and we are a damn good one!

We’d also love feedback on the games and activities. Do you enjoy them, or would you rather just ride old-school style… first come, first to ride, jump in and be ready for whatever comes your way? 😂

Tonight, like last Thursday, all of the trainers in one place, working together as a team. Students seeing us smiling, laughing, eating together, and being one group. Kids putting themselves out there, letting go of fears, staying after without rushing home, enjoying the sport… while still riding like the fire-breathing dragons they should be 🔥🐉

I had hoped last week wasn’t a fluke because it was amazing, but Night 2 somehow felt even better.

Are we perfect? No. Is anybody? No. Do we have the most money to buy the fanciest horses with the fewest quirks and issues? No. Do we want to? Honestly... no, we don’t.

We are exactly who we want to be. Proudly one of the oldest barns in the Tri-State still standing, in the same facility with the same owner, our team has changed a little bit over the years but we are still operating with core and heart, while continuing to grow and expand. Our roots run deep, so deep, that even if leaves fall or change colors, they come back even stronger!

We are proud of where we came from and proud of what we’ve built. Thank you to everyone who has ever stepped foot in our barn. Even those who left us — we learned from you too. To those who found their way back, thank you. And to those who are here now... thank God you get to see the real TMS.

We hope to keep this spirit going for many years to come 💙🐴

Last week we had walking tacos, this was pizza and amazing desserts! Next week Chick-fil-A and the amazing desserts by Jennifer...

Next week is the horse show magazine journalist representative contest! Yes just as complicated as it sounds, are you ready? Start thinking about it, trust me winning is worth it in these contests! Start researching your horseshow magazines, read some articles, learn as you go, but get some ideas! Who are you going to interview? Who are you going to take pictures of? What will your article bring to the magazine The TMS Times?!
