Swim lessons might be seasonal, but water safety isn’t. 🧡

The kids are back in school, and life feels a little more frazzled while everybody settles into the new routine. 🤪

But our kids are still going to be around water.

Maybe less often, but the skills they need if they end up in the water unexpectedly don’t become irrelevant just because summer is almost over.

So this is your little mama-bear reminder to keep your guard up around the water, even when pool days aren’t part of the everyday routine. 💛

Make sure gates are closed and locked. Put toys away when you’re done outside so there’s nothing tempting kids back toward the pool. And keep paying attention anytime water is nearby. ✨

I could shout this from the rooftops.
Our kids do not have to be afraid of the water to have a healthy respect for it, or to understand how to respond safely in it. 🥰

A parent sent me this video and said she “wasn’t the least bit afraid” jumping off the diving board, and I LOVE that.

Because whether a kiddo jumps in having the best time ever or ends up underwater unexpectedly, the process of finding their air is the same.

When they’ve completed Infant Aquatics® lessons, our kids know how to hold their breath, find the surface, get to the air, breathe, and decide what comes next.

Maybe that means swimming to the wall so they can climb out and do it all over again, and maybe it means rolling back to float because they need a little break.

That’s the part I wish more people understood about survival swim.

Safety does not have to be fear-based. 🧡

I love my job. 🥰
I love watching a child come back into their power.

I love that in this case, big bro also has survival swim skills, so we could come up with a fun way to ease little sis's nerves. ☺️

I also love that these guys are learning how to be in the water in a SAFE way. 🧡

Look at this cute little diver 🥰

This is one of the coolest parts of watching these kiddos grow in the water.

Once they’ve got those survival skills as a baseline, they can really start figuring out how much fun they can have!!

And they always know they can roll back and float and breathe when they need a little break.

It’s been such a fun summer!! 😊🧡

Hey swim families! I have a little favor to ask. 💛

If your child has swum 😉 with me, could you take a minute and tell other families about your experience?

Because you know, as a parent, choosing survival swim can feel incredibly vulnerable.

You’re making a big decision about this tiny person you love more than anything.

And when another parent is standing where you once stood, wondering whether survival swim is right for their child, hearing from someone who’s actually been there means so much more than anything I could say.

What were you nervous about before lessons?

What surprised you?

What changed for your child?

What would you tell another parent who’s considering it?

Or…what would you go back and tell yourself when YOU were considering it?

Can I brag for a second? 🥰

A swim parent sent me these videos today, and they absolutely made my day!!

This little fish graduated this spring and is now 2 years (and 3 months ☺️) old, spending the summer doing exactly what we hope every child gets to do!

I LOVE getting updates like this. Thank you Marianne Deierlein for letting me be a small part of your family’s story—and thank you for sharing these sweet videos with me. 💕

I've officially wrapped up my last session for new swimmers this season, which means the next couple of weeks are all about my SFS graduates!

I have spots available, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
