I’d never be where and who I am without this dream team.

The final moments before and the very first seconds after a fight, briefly in the vaccuum of our own little world, will always be some of my most memorable and cherished fight moments.

Thank you for reminding me who I am when I forget, for believing when I am unsure, for celebrating the highs and wading through the lows with me.

thank you for paving the way, leading fiercely by example. Your relentless determination is inspiring. I’m so proud and honored to sit (stand/scream) in your corner and feel like I can take on the world with you in mine.

thank you for dreaming so obnoxiously big and never backing down. For trusting and believing in me to handle some of our craziest ideas without even a second thought. For saying yes when everyone else would say no, then pouring everything into me so we can prove to the world why. Theres no one else’s mini me I would want to be.

Special shout out to for being the best yet calmest hype woman ever and showing up for us every single fight. Your presence and prayers calm and comfort in the midst of the chaos.

I cannot thank everyone who had a hand in this weekend’s event enough. The crowd was electric, the set up was awesome, and the weekend was one to remember. Thanks for giving us a hometown stage to rock out on.

Thank you to my opponent for stepping in for a good old fashion stand and bang. We put on a hell of a show.

The fight game is weird. You give your word to a stranger, and trust that they’ll hold up their end of the deal while you hold yours.

You trust that they’ll care for this responsibility the same way you do, so all the time and energy and money and heart you put into preparing isn’t a waste.

If I give you my word, I’ll stand by it. You can count on that. What most people watching my fight didn’t know, is my opponent pulled out on Tuesday night. Her team sent a different team mate with more experience to fill her spot…at +30 lbs heavier than our agreed weight of 130lbs… With special permission and a metric s**t ton of food, salt, and water I stepped in a cage with a significant size difference and a point to prove.

We say Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere and we walk that DAMN walk with swagger. Catch my 🍑 in 4 weeks in Orlando in another fight I shouldn’t be allowed in 😈

IT TAKES A VILLAGE 🙌🏼 Fight bags have become a tradition at our gym and I love that others are catching on and picking it up!

The whole thing started in the last few years when I wasn’t able to travel with to a fight. She’s been with me and in my corner for every fight I’ve ever had, and I hated the few I couldn’t make. If I couldn’t be there in person for support, distraction, and prefight hype, I wanted to send some things in my place to be there in spirit. And in turn shes done the same when I set off on solo global adventures 🏔

As our fight squad grew and new fighters came up on their first fights, I extended this to them, and now others at the gym have picked it up and taken part! No we don’t NEED presents, yes we did sign up for this and don’t HAVE to do this hard thing, no, I don’t need Crayola bathtub finger paint to survive cutting weight in my tub 🤣… but it’s silly and fun, makes the fighters feel special, and adds to the tight knit family culture of our gym. It reminds the fighters that while you may be in the ring alone, you have a whole army behind you supporting you. In the beginning, someone sees something in you that you don’t know exists yet. They believe in you, before you believe in yourself. And for a while you may need to rent some of that belief, until you build and believe in it on your own.  
 
has always believed in me and reminds me of how much of a badass I am on the days when the doubt finds a way in. Even still, I need to rent a little more some days than I’d care to admit, and yet there’s always more when I need it.  Here he’s telling me to believe in myself as much as he and all these people believe in me. I worked for this moment and this was my chance to steal the show and show everyone why they came. And most importantly to have fun...that’s why we’re here.
 
Compliments and thank you’s aren’t my forte, but even if so, there aren’t the right words to describe how thankful and appreciative I truly am for everything. From being my coach, to becoming one of my best friends (sorry bout it tho 🤣), the training, the pep talks, the life coaching, the sparring laughs and tears, the belief in me and all that I am and can be inside and outside of the ring. I wouldn’t be here and this version of myself without you. Thank you. 🙏🏼

I’ve said it before, it takes a different level of coach to coach female fighters.... and we definitely have the best one around. Some days you’re a coach and training partner and some days (even on the same days) you’re a therapist, a big brother, a dad, and a friend.... I believe every woman has a warrior in her somewhere but sometimes it’s so locked up and hidden away under so much other bulls**t, it takes a lot of digging and breaking down walls to find and bring that out, and then strengthen and embrace it..... has a wild way of doing that and that definitely showed this weekend.

Thank you for going the extra mile and sifting through the bulls**t, knowing when to push the tough love and no f***s training and when a quick vent and life chat will be more effective. Thank you for seeing the true fighters in all of us and knowing that this game is WAY more than just 6 minutes to flex our muscles to prove we’re tough and better than the person across from us. It’s all about a whole lot more. And this is just the beginning 💪🏽🤘🏼🖤💜
