Thank you again to everyone who came out and participated in yesterday’s MLB Pitch Hit & Run at Sam Carpenter Field at Cougar Stadium! ⚾🥎

We loved seeing young athletes from across the area come together to compete, have fun, and showcase their skills. A huge thank you to all of the parents, families, volunteers, Capital Baseball & Softball players, and community members who helped make the event possible!

⚾️🥎 WHAT AN AMAZING DAY AT SAM CARPENTER FIELD! 🥎⚾️

Today we were proud to host the MLB Pitch Hit & Run competition at Cougar Stadium, and we want to thank everyone who helped make our very first event such a success!

A huge thank you to all of the participants who came out and competed today. We loved seeing so many young athletes having fun, showing off their skills, and enjoying the game of baseball and softball.

To the parents and families — thank you for giving your players the opportunity to participate in something positive for our community. Your support and encouragement mean everything to these young athletes and help grow the future of the game.

We also want to give a special thank you to the Capital High School Baseball and Softball players, parents, and volunteers who helped make today possible. From setup to registration to helping throughout the event, we truly appreciate your time and support.

Since this was our first year hosting the event, we know there are things we can continue to learn and improve on, and we’re excited to continue growing Pitch Hit & Run for our community in the years ahead!

And finally — congratulations to all of today’s winners! 🎉 We are extremely proud of each and every one of you. Keep working hard, keep having fun, and continue growing your love for the game of baseball and softball. The future is bright! ⚾️🥎💙

⚾️🐾 FINAL. 🐾⚾️

The 2026 season came to an end Thursday night as the Capital Cougars fell to a very talented Shady Spring Tigers team, 10-2, in the Regional Tournament at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

Shady Spring jumped out early and never looked back, while Capital continued to battle until the final out. Sam Smith led the Cougars offensively with a 2-for-3 night and an RBI. Despite the result, this group continued to compete and represent Capital Baseball with pride all season long.

Tonight’s game does not define this team. This season was filled with adversity, growth, unforgettable moments, big wins, and a group that never stopped fighting for each other. There is a lot to be proud of.
