The Charleston Running Club promotes, encourages, and organizes running activities in the Charleston, SC, area. Whether you're a lifelong resident or a short term visitor, we want you to explore the Lowcountry by running through our historic city streets, along our scenic beaches, or across the Cooper River Bridge. In the 1970s, our club helped start two of the area's largest races, the Cooper Riv

er Bridge Run and the Kiawah Marathon. Today, we host the Charlie Post Classic 15K/5K in January, the Floppin’ Flounder 5K in June, and the James Island Connector Run in October. We welcome and embrace all runners, whether you're a beginner or one of South Carolina's elite runners. Our club hosts group runs, socials, educational speakers, and volunteers in our community. In addition to the social benefits, you'll receive discounts on races, free training clinics, breakfast at the Cooper River Bridge Run finish lines, and an annual holiday party. No matter where you are on your running journey, you'll find a welcoming community in Charleston Running Club.

It's Throwback Thursday!

Today's photos are from the 2022 Charleston Memorial Stair Climb. This event honors the first responders lost in the Sofa Super Store fire and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Everyone wears a lanyard with the name and picture of a first responder who lost their life in those tragedies.

The 2026 stair climb is Saturday, and it is always important to remember the brave women and men who risk their lives for us each day.

Our Tuesday Night Group Run is back at Kickin Chicken in Mount Pleasant- every Tuesday at 6:30 PM. Come run the Cooper River Bridge OR a flat pier route with us.

Way to go to Our Sunday Run (OSR) group this morning!

This crew starts at 7 AM to (try to) beat the heat on Sunday and is a great way to get some longer miles in, with an 8 mile route and shorter/longer options available.

We finish with popsicles in the park and would love to have you join us!

It's Throwback Thursday!

Today's Throwback is from our Floppin' Flounder 5K packet pick up in 2015- we can't believe this was 11 years ago, and you can get an idea of just how different running shoes looked back then, too.

We're thankful for Fleet Feet for being such a great packet pick up partner for these years AND for our wonderful volunteers!
