Exciting News

This year, the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) has teamed up with USA Dance to bring you the DanceSport part of the Junior Olympics!

This huge, exciting event features thousands of young athletes competing in all sorts of sports, and guess what? DanceSport is included! The Junior Olympics is happening in Des Moines, Iowa, from July 27 to August 8, 2026, with DanceSport happening from August 4-7, 2026. The DanceSport events kick off with Breaking and Hip Hop on August 3-6, 2026, and wrap up with Ballroom. Check-in for Ballroom opens on Thursday, August 6, and the competitions are on Friday, August 7, 2026.

Since this is the Junior Olympics, anyone under 21 can join in! So, all you Pre-Teens, Juniors, Youth, and Collegiate Dancers under 21 who are looking for a place to compete this August, this is the perfect opportunity. We’ll have all the events, from Pre-Teen to Under 21, with Bronze to Championship levels, and multiple events at each level. Aside from being Under 21, the only thing you need to do to participate is to become an AAU member. You can join the AAU at: https://aau.uventex.com/applications and make sure to sign up as an “AAU Athlete Member.”

Once you’re an AAU member, you can register for the Ballroom portion of the event. You can find the registration instructions here: https://aau-uve.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/51520924621075-How-to-register-for-AAU-Junior-Olympics-Dance.

This will be a blast, and if you come a few days early, you’ll get to see Gymnastics, Karate, Swimming, and tons of other sports. Don’t miss out on this amazing experience and the chance to say, “I danced at the Junior Olympics!”
