The Walker Cup was nothing short of unforgettable. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Dominic Clemons his entire life - his father is my oldest friend - and to see him compete on one of the game’s greatest stages was truly special.
Dominic just graduated from Alabama and has quickly become one of the top amateurs in the world. While he didn’t have his very best game, what stood out was his heart, grit, and determination - qualities that matter most when the stakes are highest.
On Sunday in the singles, he delivered a moment I’ll never forget. Standing on the 18th at Cypress Point, he faced an almost impossible challenge: he had to cut the ball nearly 30 yards around one towering cypress tree and then launch it high enough to clear another. With thousands holding their breath, he pulled it off - the ball soared, found the green, and settled just 15 feet from the hole. The roar from the crowd said it all.
His birdie putt burned the edge, and he lost his match 1 down. But make no mistake - Dominic played with the heart of a lion. He showed the world what it means to compete with courage and character, and I couldn’t be prouder. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
