This sound is perfect for this post!
A little bit of a long post, but worth the read! When you stop worrying about what others think and start focusing on yourself, you'll realize you only have yourself to prove anything to. The wins will start coming, whether they're in the form of pulling checks, new PRs, fixing issues, or whatever it may be. Focus on yourself and improving where you want to improve. Surround yourself with positive friends and influences. Try things your way if recommendations from others aren't working. It doesn't hurt to be different. Horses always find ways to humble us. It doesn't matter if you have a $100k horse or one of the brokest horses; they'll all find a way to humble you at some point. Kr Mister Fantastic/Tank has been with us for three years now. There's nothing this gelding won't do. He owes me nothing, and I cherish every run. But did our boy humble the heck out of me a few weeks ago? Absolutely, he did. Mind you, he's been with us for three years and ran all over the place, including this pen. We went to a local race, and Tank went in like he always does, making a nice run, and between the first and second barrel, he must have seen the boogie man and ducked the second. Never has this gelding ever done anything like that in three years. Buyers, remember this when you buy a horse, and it humbles you at some point and time: it's not the seller's fault, so no need to attack them. Tank has been absolutely crushing it while Pitchin A Fit/BB has been injured. This gelding will never know how special he is, and, like I said, he owes me nothing. I've been 1D-5D on him over the years. He redeemed himself with this run after the boogie man got him.
Thank you to these amazing people who are huge staples in our program!
