Well KFL - Kayak Fishing League inaugural season has come to an end. We set a goal at the beginning of the year to win the North division and have the playoffs come through West Virginia. Unfortunately, we came up just a little short of both goals, but had the opportunity going into the last game of the season to control our own playoff destiny and that’s all you can ask for. If we could have pulled off the victory on the road yesterday, we would of achieved one of our goals by hosting a home playoff game against the Massachusetts Maulers.

While we finished the season 3-3, we’re proud of the fact that our team gained a lot of respect from around the league. Our 3-0 home record was anchored by a dominating 198.5” to 18.25” margin of victory, establishing our home waters as the toughest home field advantage in the KFL. On the road, we went 0-3, but we kept every single game close and our team demonstrated that we could hang with the home team on any body of water. Our team was one of the few teams not to have a blowout loss on the road this year and we know that helped earn our team some respect from our opponents.

We were the only non-sponsored team in the league, so all of our guys invested a lot of time and money in getting this team off the ground and trying to compete on a national level and make our state proud. We’d like to thank all of the guys on the team for sacrificing time away from their family to put in the hours needed for us to have the opportunity to win the North and achieve our goals. If you’ve never participated in a team based format, we highly recommend trying it. It’s awesome seeing anglers put individuality and their own success to the side to compete as a team.

We appreciate everyone who followed our page and commented on our posts this year. Our team isn’t big on trash talking, but yall made up for that in the comments of our posts 😂. We think there's a lot of exciting things coming for next year and we can't wait to share them as more information is available.

Thanks again -
