Event History: In 2004, a group of local watersports enthusiasts started a grassroots effort to bring a top pro wakeboarder to Lake Murray. The effort was a success, and the group dubbed 'The Rough Ride

rs' hosted a weekend with two pro wakeboarders in June 2005. In the following years, the event continued and gained support of local boat dealers and businesses. 'The Weekend With the Pros' has grown to a two day event attended by over 1,400 spectators. More information, tickets, maps and directions are available online at scroughriders.com .

Why do we host Weekend With The Pros every year?

Because one lesson can change a life.

When one of our founders, Chris Farr, turned 13, his parents gifted him a lesson with a pro wakeboarder. He wasn’t into the usual sports—baseball and football weren’t his thing. But the moment he strapped on a board, everything clicked.

That one experience sparked a lifelong love of watersports.

Now, we bring in the best pros in the world - + - so others can have that same chance—to learn, to grow, and to fall in love with the ride.

+ Tune into 93.1 The Lake to hear the National Anthem & Shaun Murray
