If you missed our StrongHER event here are some of the takeaways to help keep you safe.
While in public:
-Keep hands free of purses, water bottles, etc whenever feasible
-If you are going running keep one ear free from any kind of headphone so that you can hear your surroundings
-Don’t be afraid to appear rude, use your voice when confronted
-Check your phone in the car with the doors locked, don’t have your head down while traveling
Lastly, come in and really train. Many of the women were surprised how hard it can be use verbals. Even in our training facility they reported feeling anxious and adrenalized during our final scenarios, which included wrist release techniques and how to defend being pinned against a wall.
