Starting this week out strong with another journal prompt‼️🙌

Part of becoming the best version of yourself (whether its an athlete or person) is identifying both your strengths and areas to improve on💪🏻
This allows you to take a step back and strive for your goals in a way that will produce an overall more fulfilling output in your favor📓

Think about it… if an area that needs improvement is your full twisting layout, you would take a step back and go back to basics, working your way back up to the skill. This way you are WINNING those small battles of sticking the skills leading up to a full twisting layout and then becoming more confident in your progression toward the skill. In the end, you encourage relying on good technique AND you perfect your full twisting layout🤩‼️

Here is this week’s journal prompt from us here at 🙌

The feeling and emotions that come with achieving a goal are second to NONE🏆 It is a moment we truly can’t forget!

Think back to the moment you finally reached the goal you had been working endlessly for… Think about:
-what you were doing
-where you were
-who you were with
-what your goal was
-where you started and ended
-how it made you feel
-what made it so memorable

Goals don’t happen overnight🌚 and they surely don’t happen by coincidence‼️

What steps did you have to take to achieve your goal? What did you have to sacrifice? BE SPECIFIC.

It all starts the minute your alarm clock rings! What’s the first thing you do?
•Look at your phone❓
•Start getting ready for the day❓
•Snooze your alarm❓
Starting your day off STRONG and being consistent with your morning routine makes the WORLD’S difference🌎!

Additionally, eating a well balanced meal, drinking enough water, and getting enough sleep are all equally important 💪🏻

Keep all of this in mind, each morning is a fresh, clean start🤩

Want to know a GREAT way to start off your week⁉️ Write in your tumbling journal👏

This week we are focusing on CONTROL🙌 Believe it or not… making note of what you CAN and CAN’T control alleviates much unneeded stress🤩

In regards to this upcoming competition season, let’s get a strong grip on our controls NOW‼️ Some things you may NOT be able to control are the time you compete, sickness/illness, injuries, competing on a stage or basketball court, the warm up room, and so much more! While these things may be preventable, they are out of your control MAJORITY of the time🕛

Some things you CAN control however are your attitude, how much sleep you’re getting, how much water you’re drinking, how much you encourage others, giving it your all every single routine, smiling when you can, showing up on time, and MORE‼️😊

The POWER you have by simply writing your goals down is INCREDIBLE🤌✨📝

Once you have a set goal in mind, it oftentimes can be VERY intimidating looking at it from the outside in! Thats why it is SO important to use the S.M.A.R.T. process like we discussed in an earlier post! (Go check it out!🤩) Not only this, WRITING your dream and/or goal down makes it come to life‼️

Make a plan! Don’t look at the whole staircase, only look at the first step! And TRUST the process👏 Rome wasn’t built in a day😉

Let’s make our dreams a reality one step at a time‼️😅 Make it a great rest of the week!

This weeks journal prompt is up and running for you‼️👏

Although this topic may seem easy when distinguishing the differences… there is much more than what meets the eye👀

Not only should you look into the differences between these two feelings, but also why you might be perceiving an unharmful threat as actual danger.

As human beings, we learn through experience. For example, you may endured a traumatic experience of landing on your head, not having a coach spot you when they said they would, running into someone during a skill once, etc. After this particular experience, it is very easy for you to learn the pain or fear you felt from doing that skill. Your brain now learned from your experience, correlated it with the fear/pain you felt, and “stored” it as a learned experience you should not do. This is human nature and is inevitable‼️

What is avoidable however, is how you choose to respond to it. An evolutionarily way of learning in humans is through instruction. We CAN learn from spoken words AND/OR notes‼️This being said, the power of journaling/documenting/speaking positive affirmations can re-teach your brain the instructions of completing a skill!

Day 1 or one day… you decide 👊

Power Up Cheer is here to make you ✨think✨ this wonderful Thursday!!

Success is a reward you achieve by putting discipline, dedication, and hard work towards your craft! Key word… you must ACHIEVE it‼️

I️ like to think of success as hiking a mountain. You will never see the view from the top if you don’t put in the work to get there. Everyone, no matter who you are, starts at the beginning of the trailhead. Hiking up the trail is going to get exhausting, and you might even consider turning around without finishing the hike. You might slip and fall on your way to the top, but its a remind to slow down a little bit. You might see people hiking up and passing you, but that doesn’t mean you’re any less capable. You might run out of breath, but its a great reminder to stop and enjoy the ascent to the top! Once you get to the top of the mountain, all the heavy breathing, slipping, and exhaustion is worth it🙌

Essentially what I️ am trying to say… learn your way to success. Take in each moment of growth. And mist importantly, don’t EVER give up on your goals‼️ Direction is more important than speed👏✨

Cheerleading is a TEAM sport‼️ Meaning you can’t do it by yourself! Each and every one of your teammates is VITAL to your overall success. As a TEAM…

PUSH eachother

Power Up Cheer’s tumbling journal prompt of the week is focusing on your control over your tumbling block‼️

Tumbling journals play a HUGE role in guiding your mental thoughts. It makes the 🌍WORLD’S🌎 difference by stepping back from the problem at hand, disecting it, and approaching it with a clear head and plan💪🏻

When you are entering into your tumbling journal, make sure you are being very specific! Be descriptive of what exactly is making you uncomfortable with any skill. This is your moment to get vulnerable with your own self! Dig down deep to find the roots of what is causing your doubt, shame, negativity and your performance anxiety…. Remember, there are two sides to the coin. Not all entries need to be negative! Be sure to log and reflect on the good days as well and more specificly…. What did you do to make it a good day 😉
