Quick golf tip alert! 🏌️

In this short video, I'm showing you the fastest way to gauge green speed before you play — and it only takes about 60 seconds on the practice green. If you've ever rushed to the first tee and had no idea how fast the greens were running, this one's for you.

Your golf game is yours. Not your playing partner’s. Not the golfer you see on TV. Not the person in your group who swings it farther, scores lower, or makes the game look easier.

Improvement starts when you stop trying to copy everyone else and start learning how your swing, your body, and your mindset can produce better results.

Taking risks in golf does not always mean firing at every flag or swinging harder. Sometimes the real risk is making a change, committing to a better plan, trusting a new feel, or finally getting help with the part of your game that keeps holding you back.

This week, be willing to play your game, own your process, and take one smart risk that moves you closer to the golfer you want to become.

Ready to improve your game with a plan built around you? Schedule your coaching experience with John Hughes Golf today.

Hero shots are fun when they work.

But good golfers do not build their game around hope.

They avoid risky decisions, pick smarter targets, and do the opposite of the habits that cost most golfers strokes.

This quick tip connects to my blog post, “12 Things Good Golfers Never Do.”

Every golfer has something they want to see happen: lower scores, more consistent contact, longer drives, fewer 3-putts, or more confidence on the course.

But improvement does not become real until you define it.

This week, set one clear golf goal. Not ten. Just one. Write it down, commit to it, and take the first step toward making that goal visible in your game.

At John Hughes Golf, I help golfers turn goals into plans — and plans into better golf.

Ready to make your improvement visible? Schedule your next lesson or golf school today.

If the chip shot is giving you fits, I want to help you fix it — for good.

In my latest video, I break down the four setup positions that make chipping simple and repeatable: ball middle of your stance, slightly open stance, weight forward, and hands at mid-grip. Add one move — acceleration — and you'll start landing the ball on the green and watching it release right to the hole.

I also cover why your 60-degree wedge might actually be working against you if you're a higher handicap golfer, and which club to reach for instead.

This is the chip shot made simple. Watch it, practice it, and let me know your questions in the comments.

Here's a quick one — and it could save you strokes this weekend. 🏌️

Downhill putts keep racing past the hole? The fix isn't slowing your stroke down. It's using the curve of the putt to control your distance.

Aim a foot outside. Play it a foot short. Let the hill bring it to the hole.

That's it. Watch the Full Video: Link in Bio
