I’ve had a few ask, when are we racing again?

Well, the answer is I’m not quite sure. The reality being, I have other things going on that have my attention.

As I write this, tomorrow I make my ESPN debut, and the day after I start my sophomore year of college. I just have focus on other commitments and opportunities. As they should be.

To be clear we did not accept sponsor money or raise any funds from outside sources to do racing activities this year. I value our partners and we have had close to the same group for a long time. They support me in my career as well, and I’m grateful for that. They will always have a place on our car for when it hits the track.

This post is meant to Clear Da Air, like Moneybagg Yo said.

I will still be around the racetrack, and you will likely see me, I will probably be hanging with my buddies, helping them in their racing successes and curating memories.

I will also be in the booth a few more times this year, twice at Farmer City, and maybe just maybe somewhere else, more details on that will develop.

Thank you all, for those of you who care to know, now you do, for those of you who don’t, thanks for reading anyways. Best Wishes to everyone!

-Jake

Fairbury 07/05/25 - Bury with the Boyz

Qualified 8th of 15
Heat 4th to 4th
Feature 8th to 6th

Only my 3rd night this year and relearning this car after we made some changes. Overall it was a good night where later in the night I found more of how the car needed to be drove. This car is fast, just needs a good wheelman. Best part is we got to share some pit area with the Gall Boyz and the Andersons… surround yourself with good people!

Another hiatus now for our program, between
working and other commitments, we will be back in August. Just havin fun when we can!

Thank you to my dad, Tanner Sullivan, and Jim, Jimmy, n brodix da dog at FRP.

Did you notice the 21 on track at Fairbury American Legion Speedway last Saturday? Your eyes did not deceive you, but it wasn’t Jake behind the wheel.

It was Jim Farris Sr, our chassis builder!! Jim is one of the most winningest drivers at the speedway and knows our car very well.

We have decided with my schedule with school and other opportunities that it was a good time to get Jim in the car to truly see what it was doing for the betterment of JGR and FRP Chassis.

The team threw on an old body of our longtime sponsors and went to work.

Jim, Jimmy, and my dad worked away during the last couple weeks to get the car back together. I was fortunate to make it back up for Saturday to see the plan in action.

Changes were made and notes were taken.

Not sure what the future looks like, but there are plans in motion!

Thank you all for your support in the past, it’s now about fun more than ever!

I want to give a shoutout to our crew guys, Jared Bressner, Chancey Haas, Cole Rapp, and Brock Clement. They are working tonight for the Auction! They are heavily dedicated to the agricultural world, and we should appreciate that!

My dad is back home at the auction and pork chop dinner checking out all the great items the students have acquired!

Take some time to give back to your school and local community!

Fairbury Recap - 8/24/24

First and foremost I’d like to thank the Fairbury track crew and SELCAS members for being to the car quickly.

Beyond that statement, for those of you who don’t know, we were involved in a pretty nasty wreck last night.

The night started with a top 10 qualifying effort and promising looks throughout the heat race. Rolled out 9th for the feature and just got caught up in a few accidents we couldn’t avoid at first and thus putting us to the tail of the lineup and really putting us in a hole.

Was back clicking and then one time into turns 1 and 2, I think I just got in to hot, hit some crumbs or a slick patch and just lost the car.

Beyond that the car looped and another car was coming through as I was turned around and made heavy heavy contact with us in the passenger side, ending our night and year.

Just a racing accident and sucks for everyone involved.

Would like to keep Kynlee Brandt in our thoughts as she was air lifted to a hospital for further evaluation.

As far as I go, shaken up a tad at the time I’m writing this, but I’m feeling alright. Really Really hard hit, definitely gonna feel it the next couple days.

As far as the car, definitely going to need to see the doctor in Jim and Jimmy Farris before next year, there is some damage to the chassis.

Big thank you to our crew guys
Jared Bressner, Cole Rapp, and Chancey Haas.

Our car owner and shop helper
Mike Green and Aaron Green

FAIRbury….learning
This wouldn’t be possible without our crew guys, shown left to right: Cole Rapp, Chancey Haas, Jared Bressner, and Mike Green. Along with Aaron Green behind the scenes.
Best end of night we’ve had in a while!
Qualified 13th of 21
Heat Race : 5th > 6th mo
Feature: Went from 16th to 9th at a point, then it dropped back to 12th. Just learning more on the bottom groove and admittedly the holes/ruts were harsh to get under it. We had liftoff a couple of times. All in. All we had a good night with a lot of good cars and process!

Also all the fair food was closed but the FALS diner had corn dogs, poor Jared never found them

We are back next week to what is likely our last night of the year!

And of course all of our partners can’t do it without them!!
