New Director of Tennis at Cerritos Tennis Center, Chris Chutikorn, recently got back from a trip to Canoa, Ecuador (village where 7.8 earthquake recently hit). Chris Chutikorn brought the game of tennis to young Ecuadorian youth at a temporary outdoor shelter there for a week in May. Coach Chutikorn's efforts helped the youth to relieve the pain and tragedy of losing parents, losing relatives, and seeing their homes and schools wrecked by the devastating earthquake. Chris Chutikorn is planning to go on another week long trip to Canoa in mid June and late July to continue building on his grassroots efforts to bring tennis and teach organized sports to the youth there.

CTS Student Jolene Coetzee wins the Girls 18s Singles Division at the 20Th Annual Orange County Tennis Academy Junior Open on Sunday, August 16, 2015. Jolene Coetzee defeated Kristina Evloeva in the Finals 6-2, 6-3. Jolene played great tennis throughout the tournament and never dropped a set in any of her matches. Jolene Coetzee is only 15 years old and looks forward to training and improving even more with Coach Joseph Lizardo.
