Same movement. Different exercise.

Three people can all be working on their squat without doing the exact same squat.

One might use a goblet squat, another might squat to a box, and another might use a barbell.

We choose the variation based on the person’s movement quality, experience, strength, and what they’re ready for.

You’ll see this a lot in our training. The main strength movements give us the structure, but how we coach and apply them can look different from person to person.

That’s the whole point. Train the movement that makes sense for you, then build from there.

Recovery is part of strength training.

When we’re training our main strength exercises, we want enough recovery between sets to perform the next set with good technique and appropriate effort.

Sometimes that means resting longer than you might expect.

We’re not trying to keep your heart rate elevated for the entire session. We’re giving your muscles enough time to recover so you can produce another quality set.

Rest periods can also change depending on the exercise, how heavy you’re training, and what we’re trying to accomplish that day.

The goal isn’t to stay busy for 50 minutes.

The goal is to make the work you’re doing count.

A good workout doesn’t need 12 different exercises.

When we program a strength session, the goal isn’t to squeeze as many exercises as possible into 50 minutes.

We’d rather spend time practicing a few important movements, performing quality sets, resting appropriately, and using enough resistance to make those sets meaningful.

That’s why many of our workouts are built around a main strength exercise followed by complementary movements that support it.

More exercises can make a workout feel busy.

Better ex*****on makes it productive.

Progressive overload is built into how we train.

We don’t progress an exercise just because another week has passed. First, we want good movement quality, control, positioning, and consistent reps.

From there, we can gradually increase the demand by adding weight, reps, sets, or progressing the exercise.

Our Strength Systems guide that process:

Movement Quality builds the foundation.
Strength Development increases the load.
Work Capacity builds the ability to handle more training.
Sustainability keeps progress manageable over time.

The goal isn’t to make every workout harder. It’s to progressively challenge your body as you get stronger.

What is your coach actually watching while you train?

A lot more than whether you finished the set.

While you’re squatting, pressing, deadlifting, or working through an accessory exercise, your coach is paying attention to your setup, positioning, range of motion, tempo, effort, and what happens to your technique as you start to fatigue.

That matters because the last few reps can tell us just as much as the first few.

Maybe the weight needs to come down. Maybe you’re ready to go heavier. Maybe a small adjustment to your position cleans everything up. Sometimes the best call is simply keeping things exactly where they are and getting another quality set.

That’s also an important part of our semi-private training. You may be training alongside other people, but you’re not expected to figure everything out on your own or automatically use the same weight or progression as everyone else.

You train. We coach.

That’s the whole idea.

Not every workout needs to be your best workout.

Some days you walk into the gym feeling great. Other days you had a long day at work, slept poorly, or simply don’t have the same energy you had during your last session.

That doesn’t mean the workout is wasted.

This is where having a coach makes a difference.

If something looks or feels off, your personal trainer can adjust the weight, reps, exercise, or total amount of work for that day. You can still get a productive training session without forcing yourself through something that doesn’t make sense.

The goal isn’t to set a personal record every time you train. It’s to keep making progress over weeks and months.

Good coaching means knowing when to push and when to adjust.

Come in, train, and let us handle the details.
