This season we are excited to announce that Cherokee County Youth Football and Cheer will be a member of the North Alabama Youth Football league going forward. We believe that this will be a positive change for CCYFL and will foster growth and new competition for our boys and girls!

We will compete against several new teams and have the opportunity to visit new places that our boys and girls have not had the privilege to visit in the past.

Some of the teams we will play include:

Albertville
Gasden City
Fort Payne
Sardis
Etowah
Dade County
Hokes Bluff
Boaz
Scottsboro
Fyffe

Football Practice will begin on July 17th at the ball field across from Centre Park and our first jamboree will be August 12th.

Football signups will begin Saturday April 1st at Centre City Park from 4-6. Cost will be $150.

More information about football signups will come later this month.

Cheer signups will begin today at Centre City Park from 4-6 and then run each Wednesday and Friday from 5-6. The cost for cheer will be $295. A $50 deposit is due at the time of signup. Signups will run until April 28th, after which no more signups will be accepted.

Cheer practice will begin on July 6th at the field across from Centre Park. We will have afternoon practices.

The JSU cheer camp date will be announced later. No travel is necessary for this camp as JSU’s cheerleaders will be coming to Centre to teach the camp!

Cheer competition will be November 12 at Gasden State in Centre. This will be after our regular cheer season has ended and is voluntary. More information about competition will be provided later.

The original plan for cheerleading was to require no signup fee and have everyone complete a fundraiser calendar that would cover the entire cost of their cheer package. However after publishing our first flyer, the majority of people were not interested in that method and instead wanted to opt out of the calendars completely. So we have decided to make the change to signups. However, payment plans will be offered.

Below are the details of the package that we will be ordering for each girl and a breakdown of the cost so that each parent may see exactly what they’ll be paying for.

Uniform (shell, skirt, shoes, bloomers, matching bow) - $106

Long sleeve under shirt - $17

Metallic pom poms - $20

Custom uniform embroidery - $20

Glitter background for uniform lettering - $10

Cheer backpack - $19

NAYF insurance coverage (paid to North Alabama Youth Football) - $30 (per each child signed up)

JSU cheer camp (paid to JSU) - $50

Breast cancer awareness bow (for October) - $5

Jamboree outfit (shorts and custom t-shirt) - $20

Total for package (does not include tax or shipping) - $297

At the end of the season your girl will keep all of her cheer items (with the exception of pink Pom Poms for breast cancer awareness month)!

Once the season begins each cheerleader will be required to participate in at least one fundraiser (t-shirt sales, J&J candles, sponsorships, etc) to cover any additional cost leading up to the cheer competition on November 12th at the Gasden State Cherokee Arena.

Fundraising also will help with homecoming cost (crowns, flowers, decorations) and our end of the year banquet at the Centre Community Center.

If you have any questions or if any of the dates or times for practice do not work please feel free to reach out. We look forward to a great 2023 season and hope to see everyone at signups soon!
