Today we introduce the final player on the 2026-27 roster. It’s back to the west side of Missouri as we introduce Avery Dunbar.
Avery rolls to us after spending last season in the Nebraska Gold organization, so she comes to us battle-tested for what lies ahead.
A senior at Blue Springs South, Dunbar will see most of her time in the circle. Last year with Gold she led the team in virtually every pitching statistical category.
When not pitching, Avery will add to the depth in our outfield.
Currently, Dunbar is looking for her home after high school and we certainly are here to help her achieve that goal.
To Avery and to her mother Jeanette, thanks much for the opportunity and we are excited to have you with us!

The roster rollout continues today and it does so with Jaymison Lenk.
A senior at Westminster Academy, Jaymison comes to us after spending last season with a Unity national team out of Ohio.
Lenk will be one of our three pitchers currently on our roster and she gives us some versatility as well by being able to cover ground in the outfield. In the circle she also will give the opposition a different look thanks to being a lefty who throws with good velocity and outstanding spin.
She’s also one of our busiest players, as Lenk serves as the keeper on a very good Westminster soccer team on top of her duties of cheering for the football and basketball teams.
Jaymison is the daughter of Jeff and Tracy Lenk. She was a missing piece to our puzzle for the coming season and we are looking forward to having her and the Lenk family with us for what lies ahead.

Some pretty good work from our gals on Friday rolled over a day later, as a quartet of our ladies enjoyed pretty good showings.
Myla Johnson: with Grain Valley playing in the Gold Division championship of the GKC Suburban Invite, Myla had a grand slam, scored twice and also singled in GV’s 12-1 win, capping a 4-0 weekend. Johnson was 4-11 at the plate with seven RBI for the weekend.
Makenna York: Saturday proved kind to York as well, as she went 5-6 with a homer and a double as Lee’s Summit West divided two games.
Keera Rothweiler: Keera became the all-time hits leader in Highland HS history in Highland’s first of two games Saturday. By day’s end she was 4-7 with six runs scored and five stolen bases in two wins.
Avery Dunbar: The senior pitcher at Blue Springs South worked three innings of relief against Brookfield, getting the save in South’s 9-8 victory.
Well done ladies. Keep going!

Big congrats to Keera Rothweiler, as this morning she became the all-time hits leader in the history of the Highland (Mo) High School softball program.
The record-breaker came in Keera’s first at-bat of a 13-0 win over Macon. Leading off the top of the first inning, Keera took a 1-0 pitch back through the middle for a single, giving her 169 hits in her three-plus seasons.
For good measure Keera made it 170 with another single in the sixth.
In just four games, Rothweiler is hitting a smooth .538 with a homer and four RBI. She’s also a perfect 8-for-8 in the stolen base category.
Congrats Keera on your milestone!!

Of the 14 young women on our roster, 13 of them are new, so they will come into the fall with a blank canvas.
The lone player who does not? It’s 2027 infielder Brookley Ware.
A senior at Parkway South and committed to play her college ball at UMSL, Ware is our lone returner from last season.
And we are ecstatic to have her run it back. We expect Brookley to anchor our infield while also serving as an offensive threat whose bat will be in the top of our order.
And while Ware’s talents are easy to recognize, so too are her amazing character and disposition. She’s a young woman the rest of the roster will gravitate to. There’s nothing flashy about her. She just goes and does. You never question her caring nor her desire to just keep getting better. If there is work to be done, you best believe Brookley will do it.
Brookley is the daughter of Landon and Jennifer Ware and if you have yet to meet the parents, you will find out quickly why Brookley is who she is. They simply are great people leading a great family.
Looking forward to reuniting with the Wares after the fall school season is complete.

Our honor roll on a busy Friday of softball for our Missouri gals:
Jaymison Lenk: 5-8 2 2B, 4R, 2B and earned a save in two wins for Westminster.
Keera Rothweiler: 3-6 3R RBI and 4-4 SB for Highland in two losses.
Madi Bell: 2-5 3B 3R RBI 2-2 SB in a Parkway West victory.
Beau Belz: 2-5 HR RBI as Cor Jesu split a pair of games.
Myla Johnson: 2B 2RBI in helping Grain Valley win its first two games of the season.
Gretchen Callison: 2 1B RBI in two Howell Central victories.
Brookley Ware: HR RBI as Parkway South split two games.

In basketball, they call the kid who forever is working on their game a “gym rat”.
I’m not sure what the exact phrase is to describe a softball player who does the same, but no doubt that term would aptly describe Gretchen Callison.
A senior at Howell Central, Callison comes to us after spending last season with the Epic Premier-Romeril squad.
Committed to Coach Young and East Central CC, Callison figures into our infield plans pending health. Gretchen has battled shoulder issues , so her time in the field is still up in the air currently.
Thankfully, there’s no pain when she swings her bat and that’s something she does well!
Whatever her role proves to be, we are happy to have Gretchen as well as parents Jeremy and Allison with us for our journey.

Our next roster intro takes us back closer to our home base in St. Louis and to our lone Class of 2028 grad. Today, we welcome Madi Bell.
Madi is one of three players on our roster who spent last season with the Sluggers-Kupferle team at 16U. When that team decided not to go forward we made bringing her to our group a priority. And while Bell still had another year of eligibility remaining at 16U she made the decision to level up.
Defensively there are few in the STL area who do a better job in the outfield. Bell attacks the ball well and takes great routes. Offensively Madi brings a good base level of skill that we think will do nothing but elevate as time goes on due to her willingness to put in the time to make herself better.
A junior at Parkway West, the daughter of Andy and Jo Bell is working her recruiting process diligently. Madi is doing a great job of getting herself in front of college coaching staffs at all levels by using her free time to get to camps throughout the Midwest.
Excited to have the entire Bell family on board with us.

Well-written piece by longtime friend Steve Overbey on our Brookley Ware. Her character, her ability to lead (quietly), her coachability, her academic prowess and of course her talent are big reasons why we know so many big things are in store for her.

Brookley Ware took the collision like a real trooper.

On this Wednesday, we present the last of our three young women from Illinois. Today, we give you Addi Jones.
In the few games I got to watch Addi play last last summer at 16U, one thing became very obvious: for the opposing teams? She’s a problem. A really big problem.
Whether it be with her speed or her ability to find the gaps, Jones hits and does it very well from the left side. She comes to us from our Select-Smithers team that enjoyed plenty of success.
Defensively, expect to see the southpaw behind the plate as well as in the grass.
A senior at Auburn HS in central Illinois, Addi is committed to begin her college career at Lincoln Land CC.
The Loggers have a really good one coming. But before that, we are excited about what Addi will carry to the table for our outfit.
Addi is the daughter of Chris and Sarah Jones.
