This MUST be UNDERSTOOD !!!!

Repetition is everything in boxing.
The more you repeat a punch, a combo, a movement the more it becomes automatic. That’s how fighters react under pressure without thinking. That’s how timing sharpens, defense tightens, and power becomes effortless.

Repetition builds muscle memory. Muscle memory builds confidence. Confidence builds fighters.

Keep drilling. Keep repeating. That’s how you level up.

I learned this from him MANY years ago !!!!

Sugar Ray Leonard: “Running is important because it builds up your leg muscles. A good boxer needs strong legs to move through the late rounds of a bout. Muhammad Ali runs three to five miles a day. After you get to a certain point, sprint no more than 100 yards to build up your wind. While you are running, keep your arms in constant rotation. Practice throwing punches in a lett-right combination to develop coordination. Swing your arms from your shoulders. Move while you're running and don't be afraid to put your back into it.”

Ray Leonard’s words highlight why roadwork remains vital in boxing. Running doesn’t just build endurance, it strengthens the legs that carry a fighter through the championship rounds. Mixing steady distance with short sprints develops both stamina and explosiveness, while shadowboxing during runs sharpens coordination and rhythm.
