Hello SMA Friends and Families! Monroe-Woodbury alumni lost a beautiful soul recently and we are fundraising to help the family. Anything you can contribute will help.
You may sponsor the beneficiary, Mason, one of the Instructors of SMA or just give a flat donation.
Alternatively, if you’d like to participate in the event all local contributors that are not already students receive a complimentary 1 month scholarship at Success Martial Arts - we will teach you/your child how to break boards in Joshua's honor. Thank you!

Success Community Outreach invites you to contribute to a very special event:
BREAK STRONG for Mason: A Brother's Love
In memory and honor of the late Joshua Miranda
Mason is a caring, and respectful 12-year-old of Monroe Woodbury School District. He is the younger brother of Joshua Miranda, who tragically passed away, unexpectedly, this past December.
Joshua’s passing has left an immeasurable absence in the hearts of family and friends, and it has also created a significant gap in Mason’s after-school care.
Mason's mother, Milagros, a single super mama, has been grateful to have Joshua lovingly take care of Mason as she assisted with sick, elderly family and most importantly, after school hours while she was still at work. While we will never be able to fill Joshua's shoes, we can help this beautiful family find some certainty during a time of loss. Your donation will directly provide Mason with safe, consistent after-school support during this incredibly difficult time.
Joshua was a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School and went on to study Business Administration at SUNY Rockland. He was a football player, a lover of music and sports, an organ donor—continuing to give life and hope to others even in passing, and a black belt in Taekwondo—discipline that reflected the values he lived by: strength, respect, perseverance, and protection of others. Joshua loved sports, music, and spending time with friends and family. His kindness, generosity, and natural instinct to look after those he loved left an irreplaceable hole in his family’s lives. Though he is no longer here, Joshua’s strength, love, and spirit live on through the stories they share and the lives he touched.
Thank you for your support of this worthy cause. 100% of the funds contributed go towards the event and cause. Together, we can make an impact that will truly help. The secret to fulfillment and truly living, is giving.
