A member of the Scholastic Clay Target Program, Finger Lakes Crush is a regional team dedicated to the development of youth in regards to the safe handling of fi****ms in the disciplines of trap, s***t, sporting clays and bunker trap.

It was a beautiful day for the NY State SCTP Trap Championships at Pathfinder Fish & Game Club. 12 members of the Crush team came together and brought home their 6th consecutive State Championship title in singles trap. Competing today were: Andrew, Bailey, Caleb, Chase, Cordelia, Ian, Jacob, Jackson, Jameson, Mason, Sally, and Samantha. In addition to our success as a team, we celebrate these individual accomplishments:
25 straights: Ian, Jameson
50 straights: Caleb, Andrew, Jackson

Collegiate Division... a Crush sweep:
🥇1st: Andrew
🥈2nd: Jameson
🥉3rd: Jacob

Senior Varsity Division:
🥉3rd: Ian

Top Gun Runner Up:
🏆Caleb

Top Gun Overall:

9 members of The Crush team traveled to Central Square today to compete in Handicap and Doubles Trap, shooting 200 birds total between the two events.

In the Handicap event, shooting from the 21 yard line at the Intermediate level, 1st place was earned by Brogan.

Crush members in the Senior & Collegiate divisions shot from the 25 yard line.
1st place, collegiate: Jameson
2nd place, collegiate: Jacob
Top Gun: Jackson

In the Doubles event:
1st place, collegiate: Jameson
2nd place, collegiate: Jacob

Top Gun Runner Up: Jackson

High Overall Average between the two events:
Runner Up: Jackson
High gun overall: Jameson

Other team members joining us today included Andrew, Bailey, Caleb, Mason, & Samantha. This was the first time many of our team members have shot these disciplines competitively, and they all did very well! We especially thank the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club for their flexibility in allowing us to practice doubles and handicap on their fields so the kids can learn and improve their game.

Congratulations go out to the Crush team for earning their third straight NY State SCTP s***t championship title. Nine of our team members participated in today’s competition at the Victor Rod & Gun Club. The wind was brutal on the normally predictable s***t targets….Driving down those from the high house and lifting up and stalling the low house birds. Teammates Cordelia, Bailey, Sally, Rollin, Gaven, Jacob, Caleb, Jackson & Jameson were persistent and it paid off. Accomplishing a 25 straight today was Sally and Jackson pulled off a 50 straight in the first round. Other individual awards included:

🥇1st place Intermediate Entry: Gaven
🥈 2nd place Senior Varsity: Sally
🥈2nd place Collegiate: Jameson
🥉3rd place Collegiate: Jacob

A special shoutout to Rollin who has been anxiously awaiting his 12th birthday and was able to to join us for his first competitive shoot now that he reached that milestone…. He finished 4th in the Intermediate Entry level division

Well done team! Next Sunday we head to Central Square for some doubles and handicap!

Day 2 at Rochester Brooks shooting Sporting clays with 6 team members: Sally, Clifden, Jameson, Bailey, Brogan & Samantha. This discipline is the most fun to shoot, but also the most challenging. Having no nearby courses for consistent practice adds to the difficulty. I commend our team today for putting their best foot forward,enjoying a perfect day of shooting weather, and taking advantage of opportunities to learn. Every time our more inexperienced members shoot, they improve. Congratulations to Sally on her 3rd place finish at the Sr. Varsity level, and to Jameson for his 1st place finish at the Collegiate level!

Twelve team members came together today @ Rochester Brooks Gun Club for the first trap tournament of the year. Despite some wind, it was a mostly beautiful day until a thunderstorm made a quick appearance and left our last squad to shoot in a steady rain. They took it right in stride and helped the team to a first place finish. Congratulations to Samantha, Kali, Chase, Ian, Brogan, Gaven, Mason, Jameson, Jackson, Andrew, Jacob, and Caleb on their win today.
Individual Accomplishments:
25 straights: Jackson(2), Gaven, Jacob, & Andrew
75 Straight: Jameson

Seven members of the Crush team ventured to Outlet Rod & Gun Club in Penfield today for the first event of the season: S***t. Thankfully, everyone is used to (and almost expects to) shoot in uncooperative weather, and today was no exception. Veteran members Jackson, Sally, Caleb & Bailey welcomed aboard new teammates Cordelia, Clifden, and Gaven and the team came away with a 2nd place finish. Individual accomplishments:
Gaven, 1st place, intermediate entry level
Sally, Top Gun Runner Up
Jackson, Top Gun overall
Congratulations to all of our team members shooting well and persisting through the long, rainy day!
