Day 2 at Rochester Brooks shooting Sporting clays with 6 team members: Sally, Clifden, Jameson, Bailey, Brogan & Samantha. This discipline is the most fun to shoot, but also the most challenging. Having no nearby courses for consistent practice adds to the difficulty. I commend our team today for putting their best foot forward, enjoying a perfect day of shooting weather, and taking advantage of opportunities to learn. Every time our more inexperienced members shoot, they improve. Congratulations to Sally on her 3rd place finish at the Sr. Varsity level, and to Jameson for his 1st place finish at the Collegiate level!

Twelve team members came together today @ Rochester Brooks Gun Club for the first trap tournament of the year. Congratulations to Samantha, Kali, Chase, Ian, Brogan, Gaven, Mason, Jameson, Jackson, Andrew, Jacob, and Caleb on their win today.

Seven members of the Crush team ventured to Outlet Rod & Gun Club in Penfield today for the first event of the season: S***t. Thankfully, everyone is used to (and almost expects to) shoot in uncooperative weather, and today was no exception. Veteran members Jackson, Sally, Caleb & Bailey welcomed aboard new teammates Cordelia, Clifden, and Gaven and the team came away with a 2nd place finish. Individual accomplishments:
Gaven, 1st place, intermediate entry level
Sally, Top Gun Runner Up
Jackson, Top Gun overall
Congratulations to all of our team members shooting well and persisting through the long, rainy day!

Members of the Crush team trickled back to New York from the SCTP National Competition @ The Cardinal Center in Marengo, Ohio on Saturday and Sunday after competing in a variety of disciplines including International Trap, Sporting Clays, American S***t, American Trap, Doubles Trap, Handicap Trap, Doubles S***t and Super Sporting Clays. While Sally & Samantha earned some bling to bring home, there were several other notable accomplishments from various team members.

At the collegiate level, Mason earned his first 25 straight in handicap trap, shooting from the 25 yard line, and missed the podium by 1 clay, ending up in 4th place. In American Trap, Jameson shot a 198 and ended up 6th with his reverse run. Making a return to the collegiate scene after a two-year hiatus was Thomas, stepping up and earning his first ever 100 straight on his second day of singles trap, ending with a 195 total and the 13th spot among collegiate males.

In the Senior Varsity Male division, Jackson, who also earned 100 straight on his second day of American Trap competition and ended with a final score of 199, was bumped from podium status to 7th place with his reverse run of 159. There were four of 950 Senior Varsity males that shot 200 straight and thirteen with a 199.

Our team had several individuals with straights, as follows:
25 Straight in American Trap:
Mason (2), Jacob (2), Thomas, Jameson (2), Tully (2), Jackson (1), Caleb (3), Sally, Aidan (2), Bailey, and Brianna.
25 Straight in Handicap Trap from the 25 yard line:
Mason
25 Straight in S***t:
Tully, Jackson
50 Straight in S***t:
Jackson
50 Straight in American Trap:
Jackson (which combined with his 100 on day two for 150 straight), Sally, Tully, Jacob, and Jameson (2)
100 Straight in American Trap:

Congratulations to all of these team members who work so hard to be at their finest for competition.

The ladies on the Crush team got it done this week! Adding to Sally’s 2nd place in International Trap last week, Samantha ended the week strong finishing in 5th place in the Ladies Intermediate Entry level division for singles trap in her first (of many, we’re sure) SCTP National Competitions. Congrats Samantha! We’ll have more updates from the week long event soon, stay tuned!

Though teammate Andrew won’t be joining us for the SCTP National competition this week, he is still off pursuing shooting sports adventures. Congrats Andrew on your first 200 straight!

Andrew Goodwin broke his career first 200 straight to win the New York Singles Championship. Great shooting, Andrew!

Two Crush members headed to Marengo, Ohio last week to start off the SCTP National Competition shooting International Trap from Tuesday to Friday. This is the version of trap shot in the Olympics, and differs from American Trap in several ways, including target presentation, shooting style, target speed, and target angle (just to name a few). Both athletes did very well, with Jackson placing 8th in the Senior Male Division and 🄁🄁🄁
Sally placing 2nd in ladies Sr Division and among all ladies in three classifications. The 2nd place finish allowed her to move into the competition finals consisting of the top six female competitors, where the slates are wiped clean and a (too complicated to explain in this post) process of elimination occurs. Sally ended up finishing 5th in the final six competitors. We are so proud of both of these athletes as they work tirelessly to improve their marksmanship skills and mental stamina and congratulate them on their accomplishments!
