Fans & Family,
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for the unwavering support you have shown our program. Your dedication and encouragement, even in the face of adversity, have not gone unnoticed. This past year we took a giant leap forward. We have made the playoffs the past two consecutive years, but came up just short in our bid to make the state tournament. This years’ group refused to be denied. We started the season with a huge win @ 6a Sheldon, and carried on from there by beating 6a’s: Roseburg, Willamette, Grants Pass, South Medford, and North Medford. We also beat top level 4a and 5a teams such as Hidden Valley and North Eugene (2x) who were both state teams in their respective classifications. We dominated regionally here in the Rogue Valley, with an 8-2 record and the two losses coming in at a combined 3 points. To top it off, we went into Wilsonville and dethroned a perennial state team who had won 5 of the last 9 state titles and had made the state tournament each year since 2016.
Although we did not reach the ultimate goal of becoming state champions, we met our team goal of making the state tournament, and did so in style. Behind the scenes very few see the effort that goes into making a season like ours possible; the relentless work from our coaching staff and these players is special, and not something readily replicated anywhere in Oregon. Building a sustainable culture where kids are excited to work their way into the program, proud to represent it, and successful when they leave it illustrate just how much goes into our success. Parents who helped fundraise, organize team lunches, and were supportive even in times of adversity made a world of difference; community members who willingly donated their time and money to help push our program forward are all responsible for the success this program continues to experience. The accomplishments listed above and the ensuing memories associated, are ones that will last a lifetime with our players, coaches, and their families, and we could not have done it without the support and encouragement from you and our community.
On behalf of our entire team—staff, players, volunteers, and administration—I want to express our heartfelt appreciation for entrusting us with your children. It is both an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to represent the Central Point community alongside these remarkable young individuals. Their dedication to the values of teamwork, community support, accountability, and family is a testament to the support they receive from their parents and other influential figures in their lives.
As we wrap up this season, I could not be more excited for what the future of this program holds, and what this next group of student-athletes will accomplish. THE TEAM FINISHED WITH A COMBINED 3.02 GPA TO EARN OSAA ACADEMIC ALL-STATE HONORS, PERHAPS THIS TEAMS MOST IMPRESSIVE ACCOMPLISHMENT. The combined record of our 3 high school boys teams this year was 52-23, an astonishing 70% winning percentage. With many underclassmen playing key parts on all three teams, and key upperclassmen returning on the varsity-side, the future is very bright.
Once again, thank you for your unwavering support. Together, we are stronger.
