Poppin in because starts in just 6 days 🤯 and I wanted to give an update as to how training is going 👟

I am just about halfway through training! Crazy to think that. I’m learning that if I treat my body right that I’m able to do a whole lot. Working 2 jobs and running 40+ miles/week and having a social life ain’t easy. It did take a bit for my lungs to recover from when I had Covid in December, but in the past month or so I’ve been putting a lot of work in on breathing right. It sounds silly cause as humans we should be able to just naturally breathe, but breathing and running is a whole different story.

My long runs have been feeling the best. Granted I’m only at 13 miles for my longest, but trying to be optimistic! Speedwork has been hella fun. I love some gritty workouts and want to make it a point to get on an actual track more.

We are on the up and up and climbing our way to that 180-mile week in July! Till then we’re going to keep plugging in the miles and come next week start to cheer on my teammates as they complete their segments 🤩

And that’s a wrap on long distance racing for 2021!

Between the hour of sleep I got before leaving for Philly this morning and the stress to find parking, I wasn’t expecting this race to go well. I very much got to a point of crying in the car and just going home because I didn’t think I’d make it in time. With that being said, I’m glad I didn’t leave. Not sure if it was the adrenaline from stress or what, but I felt like I was flying today. All of the tireless training I did this year to prepare for race after race was finally showing and feeling good. My legs knew what to do, I just had to follow.
