We have experienced a major leak on our 12” main line that feeds all water customers north of Tiller Drive to the Pink Cadillac Drive In.
Our crews are working at present to repair the line and restore service.
For those in the affected area ( which includes all of Fairfield and the area towards Bucksnort) please conserve what water you have available. We estimate the repair will take 5-6 hours to complete.
As more information becomes available, I will be updating everyone.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I have been in contact with our Fire Chief, Al Baltz today to discuss the heightened threat of grass and woodlands fires that could spread to residential and business structures. because of this, the need for a burn ban now exists.
After our meeting I have received the following:

Good Afternoon,

I propose to implement a Burn Ban for the Town of Centerville City Limits effective immediately. Due to the high temperatures, dry weather, and no rain expected until the weekend at the earliest, we should not be issuing any open burning permits within the city limits. The burn ban will remain in effect until significant rainfall is received.

Thank You

Alfred A Baltz
Fire Chief

Please join me in observing national Police Week. The brave men and women across America doing the hard work of keeping us safe are too often held to a standard none of us could meet.
Centerville is fortunate to have good and honorable officers to serve and protect our citizens.

A limited trash pickup is being conducted today on streets that have been cleared. Full service will resume as conditions allow. As the weather improves this week, we will try to get everyone back on schedule.
We are currently replacing frozen and damaged water meters at a rate of 1-2 per day. Our workers are going door to door in problem areas checking for problems. We have discovered several homes with broken water lines due to the freezing weather we have experienced. Several unoccupied homes have also been affected.
I ask your understanding and patience as our folks work to get us back to a normal operation.

The Town of Centerville Business Office will open at 9:00 am on Monday January 22.

01/21/2024

Despite what some Nashville media outlets have posted, the Town of Centerville is NOT under any kind of boil water advisory. The integrity and safety of our water supply has not been compromised and is therefore, safe to consume.

I’ve just spoken with Public Works and they have asked me to pass along the following request. Please conserve your water usage until at least Monday.
With this bitter cold, our folks are out chasing broken water lines. On top of this, our water customers are consuming water at a far greater rate than normal. Most likely some have some undiscovered leaks but much of it is folks leaving faucets running. All you need to do is have a drip going, not a full stream.
At present, the Water Treatment Plant is struggling to keep water levels up in all the storage tanks. It’s very important to try to cut back on usage until this cold spell begins to ease up on Monday.
On the positive side, our workers are continuing to clear city streets. Our guys plowed all day yesterday and into the night. Street conditions are improving daily and will continue to do so as temperatures moderate.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
