🏈 BUCKEYE GAME DAY AT WYANDOT! 🌰

Jordan’s got the new punch-card hardware ready — hearts, stars & flowers. Because apparently a normal hole punch wasn’t exciting enough. 😂

Ohio State kicks off Saturday at 12:30 PM, and we’ve got three reasons to spend game day at Wyandot:

👊 BUCKEYE PUNCH CARD
Grab a punch during every Buckeye game you watch with us.
6 punches = $100
12 punches = $200

🍺 THE 10-MINUTE TIMER
Every Ohio State touchdown starts the clock — $1 OFF drafts for the next 10 minutes!
Score. Drink. Repeat.

⛳ HOLE 11 BIRDIE BALL
Playing before the game? Make a birdie on our newly reopened par-4 Hole 11 and earn a FREE 2-pack of Bridgestone golf balls!

Golf. Buckeyes. Beer. And Jordan punching flowers into cards.

Saturday starts at Wyandot. 🌰⛳

⛳ Hole 11 is officially a Par 4 again!

After months of work, today was finally opening day.

Somi handled the most important part first — changing the scorecard from Par 3 ➡️ Par 4. ✍️

Then Kent and Kevin had the honor of hitting the first official tee shots from the new box.

Kent stepped up…

and promptly pulled one directly into a tree. 🌳😂

And because apparently that wasn’t enough of a proper Wyandot grand opening…

it started raining on us. 🌧️

Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Hole 11 is open.
Wyandot is officially Par 72.
And the trees are already in play.

Wouldn’t have it any other way. ⛳

⛳ Tomorrow, Hole 11 is BACK.

Kevin’s getting the new Hole 11 tee box ready ahead of its official opening tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1!

The new Hole 11 will play:

🦅 Hawk — 268 yards
🦌 Deer — 262 yards
🐍 Snake — 256 yards
🐇 Rabbit — 156 yards

It’s a short par 4, but don’t let the yardage fool you. The green is reachable from the back tees… if you’re willing to gamble with the trees and pond standing between you and an eagle putt.

And this is about more than one new tee box.

Four of the five previous Wyandot owners will be joining us tomorrow to celebrate another chapter in the course’s history.

When the first ball is struck from the new tee, Wyandot Golf Club will officially be a Par 72 again!

A little history. A little progress. And one very tempting risk/reward par 4.

See you on Hole 11 tomorrow. ⛳

⛳️ HOW ARE YOU PLAYING THE NEW HOLE 11?

Steve Laslo from Ohio Golf Association came out yesterday to officially re-rate Hole 11 for our GHIN course rating — and we put him on the spot.

From the Hawk tees, the new hole 11 plays 266 yards.

The green is absolutely drivable… but there’s a catch. 😬

🌲 Plenty of tree trouble
💧 A pond guarding the front of the green
🏌️ And 266 yards of temptation telling you, “You can get there.”

Steve’s play?

3-wood about 200 yards, leave himself roughly 60 yards, wedge it on and take the birdie putt.

Smart. Sensible. Responsible.

Which is probably why most of us won’t do it. 😂

So what’s your play from 266?

A) 3W to 200 → wedge in
😎 Driver → carry the pond and go for the green
C) Driver → introduce a golf ball to the pond

The new Hole 11 opens Tuesday, September 1.

Risk or reward. Your call. 🦅

Avery was working on her putting, so I asked her:

What are 3 things you’d tell your younger self to become a better putter?

Her answers? Thoughtful, inspiring and honestly pretty great advice.

Me watching her sink putt after putt?

All I could think about was Caddyshack. 😂

So naturally, we had to add a little pressure:

⛳ Make the putt… keep the Spider.

Cue the Caddyshack inspiration…

“Be the ball, Avery.”

Unfortunately… she was not the ball. 😂

The Spider stays at Wyandot.

Avery is headed back to Southeastern University for another season of college golf. We’ve loved having her around Wyandot this summer and can’t wait to follow along.

Good luck at SEU, Avery! Go make some putts! ⛳

Chuck’s Last Day at Wyandot 🫡

Chuck spent the summer with us at Wyandot as part of our grounds crew — primarily mowing and helping Scott and the crew keep the course looking great.

He’s also a retired U.S. Air Force Security Forces veteran. Unfortunately for us, summer is winding down and Chuck has to head back to his “real job” as a family liaison at Centerburg Schools.

I wanted to put together a video showing off all of Chuck’s hard work this summer.

Small problem: apparently I never took any video of Chuck actually working. 🤦‍♂️

So I had to find another way to make his interview entertaining.

Chuck has a habit of buying himself a little thinking time with an “uh…”

Naturally, I counted them.

Final score: 11.

Sorry, Chuck. When the guy editing the video has no mowing footage, he has to work with what he’s got. 😂

Thanks for spending your summer with us, Chuck. We appreciate everything you did to help keep Wyandot looking great — and, most importantly, thank you for your service!

Good luck back at Centerburg Schools. We’re going to miss having you around!
