Friends of Dale Hollow is proud to put some of this year's donations to work supporting local education. We recently provided educational animal pelts to Desmaray and the Corps, and they were already in action at yesterday's Wilderness Day Camp. Education is one of our core missions. Mark your calendars! Last year, 130 volunteers spent 530 hours on Dale Hollow's shoreline. 40 bags of trash. 8 tires. Gone. 🗑️
September 26, 2026, we're doing it again, and we want your help BEATING every one of those numbers. 📈
Pick your own spot on the lake, or join the organized group meeting Star Point Resort at 8:30am (boats and bags donated by Star Point Resort). ⛵ Drop trash at the Pleasant Grove ramp, or email Ranger Desmaray for other drop off locations.
Every participant earns a FREE day-use pass. 🎟️ Email Ranger Desmaray at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) with your group size, total hours, and photos of your haul.

Don't miss out on this year's Wilderness Day Camp hosted by the Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery. Wilderness Day Camp offers local youth a rare escape to the outdoors. If you’re out on the water this weekend, take a look at the shoreline. It’s the reason we do what we do. Join us, and you’re funding the work that keeps it that way: cleanups, conservation, education, all year.

Speaking of cleanups, our Annual Lakeshore Cleanup is September 26 (8 AM–12 PM). Star Point Resort is donating boats and trash bags, Obey River Outfitters is offering free kayak use, and every volunteer walks away with a fee-free day-use pass.

Can’t make the group cleanup? Grab your boat or your boots, pick your favorite stretch of lake, and run your own crew. Just make sure you’ve got the means and access to do it safely.

Tag us in your haul photos. The bigger and weirder, the better.

The lake carried us all summer. On Sept 26, we carry the trash out.

Friends of Dale Hollow is teaming up with the Army Corps of Engineers for our Annual Lakeshore Cleanup, and we want this to be Dale Hollow's BIGGEST cleanup yet. By boat, by trail, by shoreline. Bring a friend, bring a bag, bring whatever you've got.

Here is how you can get involved and even earn a fee-free coupon for your hard work. 👇

🤝 Choose Your Adventure: Self-Guided or Organized Group
We want to maximize our impact, so we have two great ways for you to participate this Public Lands Day:
Self-Guided Clean-Up - Pick your favorite area of the lake (shoreline, trails, or open water) and conduct your own clean-up. Do this only if you have the necessary means, access, and materials to do so safely!
Organized Groups - Join established teams working on targeted, high-impact projects.
• Friends of Dale Hollow Lake: Head out on boats to clear debris from the water.
• Scout Groups & Organizations: Clear litter from shorelines around campgrounds and trails.

🦺 Safety First!
Your safety is our top priority while you are out protecting the lake. Please make sure to:
Stay hydrated by bringing plenty of water. Keep a first aid kit easily accessible. Wear heavy-duty gloves and bring trash bags.

🎁 How to Earn Your Fee-Free Day Use Pass!
We want to thank you for your service! If you participate in a clean-up, you will be put on a list to receive a fee-free coupon good for a day-use pass at one of our recreation areas: Pleasant Grove Day-Use Area, Obey River Day-Use Area, Lillydale Day-Use Area

📬 How to Claim Your Reward:
Once you finish your clean-up, send an email to Ranger Desmaray with the following details:
Number of participants in your party.
Total service hours completed.
Photos of your group in action and the impact you made!
Example Email: "We had a group of 4, and we cleaned up trash at Gunnels Camp for 3 hours each (12 total service hours). Attached are some photos of our haul!"
