Tip of the Day:
Hip to be Square
While spending time on the practice tee at a recent PGA tour event, I was relieved to witness the best players in the world working diligently on the very same thing we as teachers work on with amateur golfers. The common denominator: alignment. When a golfer's alignment is off it's no different when your car's tires are misaligned. You are going to fight going in the right direction. Get your game on track when you set up parallel to your target. Simply set up like you were on a rail road track - feet, hips shoulders square along the back rail and the club head square with the other rail. It.s hip to be square to your target.

Tip of the day:
Determine a Complete Backswing
Many golfers try to make a complete backswing based on how far their hands and arms go back. In reality, your backswing is completed when your shoulders have made a full turn. Turn hands, arms and shoulders together on the backswing. Once your shoulders have finished turning, trying to make the hands and arms go any further may cause them to veer off plane. Don't get caught up in completing the swing with your hands. Regardless of how far the hands and arms get, when the shoulders are done turning, the backswing is finished.

Your not watching the ball!!

The most common saying in golf is "keep your head down or your not watching the ball." The question is, are you actually picking your head up? Are you watching the ball? When you hit a thin shot that dribbles along the ground, or the ball flies way left, right or straight up. The common cause is your center point ( Head and spine) is moving either side to side or up or down. These motions create a change in the swing path which forces the club to travel inside out, outside in or with a severe upswing, or throwing the club into the ground behind the ball. Focus on thinking you are swinging in a barrel and your body must rotate level inside the barrel without touching the sides. It is virtually impossible to keep the head perfectly still but this thought will create a tighter rotation of the body which will result in a straighter, longer ball flight.
