Friday was the last points race of the regular season at Lightning Speedway in Fountain City. We didn't come home with a feature win or championship in points but we really enjoyed our night with our racing friends. Congratulations to Kilian on your first heat win and Congratulations to Riley on the Points Champion for the season. It was a fun season to watch everybody grow and learn at a new track.

Cedar Lake was a fun indoor track. We prefer Hot Laps and a feature over qualifying and a feature like they ran yesterday. Here's why: leave to house at 4 a.m. to get there for registration and pre check. Practice starts at 11:00. Around noon they start qualifying. Qualifying is done 3 karts at a time. There's alot of karts. It takes 3 hours. So you run your 5 laps and wait. She raced at 3:30, race lasts 4 minutes and then your night is done. And then you wait another 4 hours for all the races to finish to get your pay out. She qualified 4th and felt good going into the feature. She was battling for 3rd when she got hit during an attempted pass. I was in the stands and couldn't see but she was struggling in the corners. Mike was in the pits and thought she had a flat tire. Mike told her to slow down and just finish the race. After the race Mattie and Mike were looking for a flat tire and couldn't find it. They picked up the kart to put on the scales and the left tire fell off! Found the issue. Luckily it didn't fall off during the race. We enjoyed hanging out with the Wolfe Family for the day. Thanks you guess for all your help.

2 days of racing and neither night went our way. Friday night at Lightning Speedway... let's just say we don't want to talk about it and move on. 🤣 Mattie admitted she was off and should've listened to dad. That being said, it was a beautiful night and we love the friendships that we are creating, making it feel like the good old days at Coulee. Got home at 11:00 & unpacked the trailer and got it ready to leave Saturday morning at 4 a.m. (another post coming for Cedar Lake)

Home alone as the girls are in Madison to se the Great Gadspie how ever you spell it. Have work to do I know we don’t race for two more weeks but I have Ben taught races are won in the shop. Last week was not great batting a very tight kart. Later found out the axcel was bent and had way to much cross in it. So thanks to grandpa axcel switched out made a few other changes now to get on scales and fix cross. Also getting tires ready for the champ kart which she will race in a few weeks growing and shrinking tires never stop trying. Never give up!!!!

We did not bring home the checkered flag but it was still a good night of racing. The weather was perfect.

Mattie’s racing schedule for rest of the year
The MCKS schedule is a retailing series that we run with our champ kart the other is our local racing that we do with our flat kart. If anybody is interested in helping out with some sponsorship for rest of the year such as entry fee or buying a tire or just some gas money would be me greatly appreciated. If you are interested pm me and we can discuss things you would get a sticker on the karts and you or business would be talked about on our social media and by the announcer at the events. Prices can range anywhere from $90 to $400 and that would also increase size of sticker as price determined
