So much to be learned from chasing these crazy fish. We had a long day with no action til the bottom of the 9th. Blake hit a home run with this beautiful first Muskie. He and his brother Maddix were rock stars on a really tough day, never giving in and never giving up. Persistence paid off with a shad fed fish pushing 30 #. Here’s the crazy part. I caught and released the SAME FISH 2 years ago, probably not 50 yards from where she ate today. It had a very distinct “notch” on its beak. Unmistakable. Catch and release works. The fact that a young man was able to catch this fish again and make memories for a lifetime, makes my heart full. I have the best “ job” in the free world. Word.

A great half day with Mike today!The first fish came 15 minutes into the day casting a Red October tube. After deciding to troll a few hrs later, it wasn’t long and the clicker made that zzzt…zzzt…zzzt sound we were waiting to hear. After a few minutes of chaos, she was in the net. One of the thickest fish I’ve seen in a long time. Post frontal conditions with 20+ mph wind and a bluebird sky didn’t matter today.
