Missile Ridge Disc Golf Course This disc golf course is dedicated to our veterans and active military personnel and located on the American Legion Post 261 property in Cedar Lake, Indiana.

It's built entirely by donations and volunteers of the Missile Ridge Disc Golf Club We broke ground on the first hole of Missile Ridge Disc Golf Course late September 2019. I traveled to Maple Hill the week after it was approved to spectate at the Maple Hill Open and compete the next week-end in the US Masters. Home for a week then off to Branson MO to attend my late fathers army reunion meant we

really didn't start in full until the middle of October. The first 7 holes were an easy install, located in a maintained area of the property with mowed grass and huge oak and hickory trees on a rolling hill. Then we get to the woods...untouched for better than 50 years they were impassable. We carved paths just to see what was in there and we found a marvelous canvas for our course. Over the next year we were able to carve 7 holes through these untouched woods. The Covid shutdown had us isolating in the woods for months on end, hole 15 took 2 solid months to build. As of this writing (10-7-2020) we have 21 holes and are experimenting with different layouts. We have 9 DiscKing baskets, 5 New Veteran baskets and filled in with loaner baskets. The Executive Board of the post gave me permission to build the course but didn't allocate any funds. The Sons of the American Legion (I'm a 30 year member) stepped up and sponsored a hole as did many of our disc golf family. We are looking for donations and have hole sponsorships available for $300. You get your name on the tee sign for 3 years and get to dedicate your hole to a veteran or active military service member.

Well, we took a little hit from that crazy storm! Hope everyone is ok out there.

Due to the condition of the course, we are cancelling tomorrow’s leagues and closing the course until we can ensure player safety. Please still come out tomorrow and help us with the cleanup effort! With everyone working together, we should have the course safe for the Barsby event next week.

United we stand; together we will weather this storm and come out stronger for it.
