After a long off season, we took the long car to Cedar Falls for some points racing over there. We were eager to see what the off season converter change would affect the car. Saturday there was a pretty decent head/side wind but the car performed exactly as we hoped and Tom was hitting the tree well. We got beat in the second round but gave us some confidence in both the car and driver again! Sunday, Tom was really killing the tree and in 4 passes on Sunday, Tom was between .004-.008 on the tree and the car was deadly and was never dialed off of a 4.68. We bowed out at 3rd round, where it was a tight race and took too much stripe and broke out by .01. But it was a very successful weekend and the car is as deadly as it was with the little motor. Feels good to have a deadly consistent hot rod again! I know Tom gained a ton of confidence back and I was super proud of him! The 2026 racing season is finally back in full swing!
Dek had a great weekend as well. We had to learn his car all over again after a significant clutch change and had to learn how to stage and leave with that kinda RPM. Dad has a few things to work out, but he did make it to the finals on Sunday in his first weekend at Cedar Falls!
I am very proud of both of my drivers and we had a blast with The Swanson Family as always!
