Hank umpired our American Legion games. Congratulations to one of the best umpires around but more importantly a great human being!!!

Cazenovia American Legion Post 491 is looking for a head and assistant baseball coach for the upcoming 2025 season as well as a team manager. Coaches will be responsible for scheduling games,practices scheduling umps and field prep as well as scheduling player sign up and info meetings with Weston and Wonewoc players and parents and attending league meetings with our Legion reps held in Portage while working in close contact with the Reds home talent team and the youth reds as far as field availability along with other tasks. Team manager will be the contact person for the team and will receive all emails from the league board and will be responsible for team registration,inputting rosters, paying all fees including insurance within the league timeframe and be responsible for keeping all records including a copy of player agreement forms and send originals to the head of the Wisconsin American Legion baseball association among other tasks. ALL coaches as well as team manager will be required to have a background check done as well as take abuse training through the American Legion Baseball website. Interested candidates can contact our Legion reps.

Update: All blue insulators are sold!!! If anyone is interested in purchasing a piece of history we have approximately 75 glass insulators for sale to benefit Weston Baseball and Cazenovia Legion Post 491 Baseball. These were gifted to us by a very generous family who also donated 5 loads of scrap metal. The insulators held the first power line ever in Lost Hollow. We are asking $3 each for the clear and $5 each for the blue but don’t be afraid to make a offer on multiples.

Congratulations to Weston Baseball alumni Monty Jennings and current Weston Baseball and American Legion Post 491 Player Isaac Jennings on being selected to play in the 2024 Home Talent All Star Game. Monty was selected as a outfielder and Isaac as a pitcher. The game will be played tonight at Sauk at 7:00. 🇺🇸 ⚾️ 💪 🦅 ⚾️ 💪

Results of this Saturdays double header vs the Clyman Canners.
Game 1 Caz 2 Clyman 1 in 8 innings.
Isaac Jennings gets the win on the bump allowing no earned runs on 3 hits 1 walk and 16 Ks. Corbin Gross singles in the 7th to tie it up 1-1. Top of the 8th Jennings strikes out the Side to go to the bottom of the inning. Rylin Miller gets placed on second for tie breaker, Hunter Coy sac bunts to move Miller to 3rd. Ross Allbaugh hits a walk off single to score Miller for the win. Allbaugh and Gross with singles, Connors with a double.
Game 2:
Caz 10 Clyman 0
Trevor Westphal gets the win on the hill allowing 0 earned runs on 4 hits 1 walk and 10 Ks. The bats came to life in game 2 as Post 491 belts out 13 hits. Leaders at the dish:
Isaac Jennings 3-4 with 2 singles 1 triple and 2 RBIs
Hunter Coy 2-3 with 1 single 1 double and 3 RBIs
Corbin Gross 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 RBIs
Allbaugh,Connors,Durst,Granger,Gregory, and Westphal all with singles.

We would like to send our condolences to the Swanson family as we all mourn the loss of a legend. We found out that Pete passed away yesterday. Pete was baseball. He is what every coach hopes to be. His willingness to help at the drop of a hat and passion for the game of baseball will forever be missed but not forgotten. Pet was a huge part of getting Legion baseball back in Caz. Pete and his wife invited us into their home and helped us get everything up and going prior to the start of the season. Pete was so excited that Caz was having a Legion team again and knowing we didn’t have much money as we were just getting started that he offered to pay the $90 per game umpires fee throughout the Legion regional for Caz. Thank you to Pete will never be enough for all he has done. This Saturday during our home double header we will have a moment of silence in remembrance of Pete.

Sunday July 14 double header home vs Tomah start time 11:00.
Saturday July 20 double header vs Watertown. (Caz Celebration) start time 11:00. We will also be raffling off 3 Milwaukee Brewer tickets during the games.
Thursday July 25 vs Viroqua @ Viroqua start time 7:00.
July 26 at Bellville time and opponent TBD. 🇺🇸 ⚾️ 💪
