Cayce Police Department Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run CAYCE, S.C.

The Cayce Police Department is actively investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that resulted in the death of a Cayce woman early Sunday morning.

At approximately 3:15 am Sunday, Aug. 23, officers responded to the 1800 block of Frink Street after a woman was struck by an unknown vehicle while walking in the area. The woman died because of the collision.

"Our thoughts are first and foremost with the victim and her loved ones as they navigate this devastating loss," said Cayce Police Chief Bruce Wade. "Our investigators are working diligently to identify the vehicle and driver responsible. We are asking anyone with information, no matter how small they may think it is, to come forward and help us bring answers and accountability to this family."

Cayce Police Department investigators, along with South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner's Office, are actively working the case. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage, collecting and analyzing evidence, and pursuing leads to identify the vehicle and driver involved.
The department is asking anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have information that could assist investigators to contact law enforcement.

Even information that may seem insignificant could help investigators piece together what happened. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
