2023-24 Waterfowl Season is shaping up to be a DRY one at least to start in the lower Midwest and South. Scouting is paramount to success when water and holes are limited when you hunt public land. Make sure that you have a good mapping program or GPS and if using your phone to run programs like ON-X like most of us do now that you will have reception. No one wants to trespass on private ground or accidentally cross into a refuge without proper permitting.

Make sure that you are checking all of your gear and if you are in need of anything, make sure that you are checking back daily for new Waffles for your chance to WIN...

With the looming US Government Shutdown at Midnight Saturday make sure you know which areas may be closing before you head out. A lot of WMA's & Refuges even though managed by states are Federal land and are at risk of being closed with the shutdown. Make you backup plans NOW in case the fight in Washington ruins your hunt.

Great Pro Tip... If you use spinning wing decoys use a 6-8" Zip Tie on the end of each wing to create more movement in the water on calm days. Will lightly slap water on each wing rotation without draining the batteries.
